Carly Phillips GuestBlog: It's Your Lucky Day!

CONTEST TODAY !!! Carly's giving one lucky commenting Bella a copy of "Lucky Charm," Lucky series book 1!

From Michelle: It's been too dern long since Bella Carly Phillips's been in the RBTB digs! But she's bey-ack w/her super new "Lucky Streak" and Lucky series: Sexy brothers, family curse, spunky chicks, trademark Carly anything-can-happen-on-the-way-to-love romance. Please give 'er your warmest, "Curses! Those Corwin boys're hawt!" Bella buongiorno...
From Carly:Hi, all. I’m so excited to be here today. A special thanks to Michelle for bringing me and a wave to the Bellas! Hope everyone’s having a very LUCKY day. Why? Because my new book "Lucky Streak" which is in stores now is all about LUCK!

And sometimes, thankfully, luck pays off for me! I definitely don’t like to presume good things will happen, I like to hope. I’m afraid of jinxing something. Can you really do that? I rarely tempt fate. But it’s an interesting concept, isn’t it? Luck?

LUCK is fickle. And yet many of us believe. When I ask myself why, I realize it’s because of HOPE. It’s the possibility that Lady Luck will step in and pick us up that provides a ray of hope. LUCK causes us to play the lottery, pick up a heads up penny, read fortune cookies, and many more crazy, superstitious things. It was the concept of LUCK that drove the idea for my new LUCKY series and book two is in stores now!

Fortune hasn’t been so kind, however, to the men in the Corwin family. And Mike Corwin is the latest to cross her path. Where? LAS VEGAS! The good news is that Mike, a police officer, awakens after some hard partying in Vegas $100,000 richer and married to Amber, the gorgeous woman he met the night before. The bad news: His last name is Corwin. The really bad news is that Amber's a consummate con who took his money and ran. Seems the family curse has finally hit him.

But to Amber, Mike isn't business as usual. Something about her new husband softens her steely heart, even as she betrays him. And Mike, first hell-bent on divorce, welcomes a second chance to defy the curse... and turn his run of bad fortune into a lucky streak!

Of course I wanted to extend LUCK to my readers so I’ve created an on-going contest which encompasses all three books in this series for those who read them. I call it the “Lucky You” Contest! Six lucky winners will receive a special gift!

Still feeling lucky? Enter the "Lucky Streak" Reader Contest courtesy of (me) and HQN books! One winner will receive $1,000 to spend anyway they want! Plus...There’s also my monthly contest (a beautiful, LUCKY necklace); the sizzling book video – you should see and hear the hero! And of course the book itself, "Lucky Streak" in stores now!*

So, after all this talk about LUCK, what do you all think? Does it exist? Can you create your own luck? Or does luck follow you? Tell me YOUR thoughts!

Hi Carly! Good morning! I think luck comes and goes. When your mood is upbeat and you think optimistically then the luck will come to you.

Please enter me in the contest.

Hi Carly, Congrats on the newest release in your long string of fab books.

I'm a firm believer in what goes around comes around. Luck isn't something that just happens, you make your own luck. You create your reality by believing things will happen (good or bad). Negative thinking brings bad luck, positive thinking give you happiness.

I've done it, and I'm quite happy. *grin*

Hi! I agree with you about comes and goes. Like everything in life it's cyclical! I bet my hero in Lucky Streak would agree. Win money, lose money, marry the girl, lose the girl, the girl shows up, LOL!

I think the world is ready for a GOOD UPWARD cycle!

Buongiorno, Bellas and welcome, Carly! Iheartbg, great point about making yourself open to it! Sometimes when we're all negative and stuff, we can't even see the good stuff around us just waiting to be tapped into. Or as my girlfriend says, when your disgusted, everything around you's disgusting. i think we were talking about men at the time... :)

Hey, Mon, i SO know that's true in your life! You got some good stuff comin your way and you certainly bring it with you when you visit.

Oh, and I have to go to the dmv this morning, so I'm hoping for some good luck w/the lines...

Put me in the "What goes around, comes around" school of luck.

This looks like a fun series!

I'm a such a huge believer in good things and they will return to you. :) Somtimes it doesn't feel that way but just give it time! :D

Morning Bellas!! Welcome back, Carly!!!

I'm too Irish/Scotish not to believe in luck and all the good and bad goes along with it. I tend to be a bit on the supersticous side which drives my family crazy but one can never be too careful, IMO.

This sounds like a fun series, Carly. I can't wait to check it out. =o)

Hi Carly!! HUGE fan! :)

I believe in luck, though to what extent I'm not sure. Good things happen for a reason (in my opinion) although its harder for some people to recognize them as good things.

Can't wait for the new book..any book of yours is a winner!! :)

Hey Carly, does luck exist? That is a tough questions because I vacillate between the yes and no answer very often...I know that I believe in luck because there are some situations I find myself in, and I am lucky to get out of them...It is hard to say whether or not people can create their own me it is a matter of whether you believe in it or perception is that some people are luckier than others, but as someone else stated, everything happens for a reason...good or bad...

I am really enjoying the series, and I can't wait to dive into Lucky Streak...Amazon hasn't delivered yet...bummer...I will try to drop in again later...see you in the jungle...

Peace and love,
Paula R.

I think that luck exists, but only if you believe. I don't think you can look down on someone who plays the lottery and never wins, because apparently it wasn't his lucky day. Then again look at the people who win and spent their last dollar on the ticket. Now that is luck and know one is going to deny that. LOL

I definitely believe in luck, but I don't think we have control over the good or bad of that luck. Some people seem very charmed no what happens to them, while others seem to have one bad thing happen after another.

I guess all you can do is hold on tight and enjoy this ride we call life.

Lyoness writes: Good things happen for a reason (in my opinion) although its harder for some people to recognize them as good things.

Couldn't agree w/you more! Sometimes things happen and can seem completely miserable. But if we look at them really hard from all angles, we probably can find something to learn from, or something really good about the whole thing. Course, sometimes even I kick and scream and dig in my heels because I'm not necessarily ready to see it, and I've been known to look realllly hard for the bright side of most everything! And I do consider that kind of making one's luck.

Is luck the same thing as good fortune? Cause I do consider myself really fortunate that I meet so many nice people online and in 'real life,' and have had so many people reach out to me in friendship and to help me in life.

So, Mary, we've got you in the Good KArma category!

Ah, RachieG, it's the waiting that's the hard part!!!

Jules? You? Superstitious? I only think of you as obsessive compulsive. Are you just dying to read this series in order even though they're stand alones? heehee.

Hi, Paula! Thanks for making the trip here from the jungle! Great point, that idea about looking back and saying, 'phew! That was lucky to get out of that one!' Hope your book gets delivered soon!

Yep, Patty, ya gotta play to win, right? I mean, is there anything more fun than a nice scratch ticket?

Very, very well said, Jody. Thank you for that.

Hey, Bellas!
Hmmm...Luck. Don't really believe in it, myself. Mostly, I believe what my Grandma used to say, that life's what you make it. But, that doesn't necessarily mean that 'life' doesn't come and bite you where it REALLY hurts. That's just part of life, sometimes. Gotta take the good with the bad. And, believe me, romances are definately the good! REALLY good!

Hi Carly!

I tend to have really good luck which is a blessing.

Have a wonderful day blogging!

Michelle Buonfiglio said...

Hey, principessa! That little kitty that kind of adopted you recently, is that good luck, or kind of, 'oh, well, might as well feed the thing" luck? :) Your grandma sounds like she was pretty practical and wise. The romance novels really make up for any lack of good stuff, I agree!

Michelle Buonfiglio said...

Awesome to hear, cher! And thanks for stopping back in after trying earlier!

Hi Carly,
Congrats on the new release. I do believe in luck, but I also think that sometimes you have to create your own luck. I know some people who have nothing but bad luck and they can't seem to get away from it.

Tiona said...

Oh, QB, the hey-i'm-adopting-you kitty was definately a good thing, hehe! I get that a lot, hehe. Yes, indeed, grandma was both of those things, thanx!
Congrats on the new release, Carly!
Happy reading, everyone!

Hi Carly,
I do believe in luck. I think a positive attitude helps luck out.

Hi Carly! Can't wait to pick up your latest. I do believe in luck but I also believe that positive attitude will bring you things that others may call "luck".

Hi, all. Crazy day so I haven't been able to check back until now. Vet for sick dog, pediatrician for sick kid ... but I'm here now! Positive attitude is the best thing because it also is good for your HEALTH. I'm learning that too!

I think luck comes and goes and mine has been bad lately. Water leak in kitchen replacing floor this explains it all right now.

I think Luck is a state of mind. When I focus on negative things, I tend to "receive" negative things. Positive thoughts create positive things.

Michelle darling, you know my motto.... "There is no such thing as a stand alone." ;o)

Morning again, Carly. Or evening actually. I didn't get a chance to stop in before I had to go spend the day at the car dealership. Long, wasted day.

I am a believer in karma. Luck, for me, has never worked. I do know that some people are very lucky- but I am not one of them. Give me an entire roll of lottery tix and I won't win a thing! LOL

but Karma- what goes around, comes around, so I try to remember that when I decide what I am going to do in a situation.

See you in the morning!!

Michelle Buonfiglio said...

Oh, man, Virginia, that falls under the category of 'if I didn't have bad luck, I'd have no luck at all..." hope it gets fixed soon!

I hear ya, Mari. sometimes it's hard to catch ourselves when we're starting on the downward turn, though. :)

ev, we met at Plot Monkeys, remember?

Jules, I thought your motto was, "I never met an alpha I didn't like?"

true, peej! Isn't that why we sometimes grumble in somewhat good nature, "aw, she's got all the luck...?" when we don't always take the time to notice how somebody's worked hard to make their own 'good luck.' But sometimes I do like to daydream about tripping folks who just seem to have it all. In the nicest way possible, of course...

Hiya, Jane! Yeah, there do seem to be people who really have to learn to roll withthe punches and can't seem to catch a break, that's for sure.

Chey, I think you're our one true believer today!

Carly, definitely not a good luck day for you. But I definitely live by the positive attitude = good health thing (and I've got the kidney transplant to prove it). :)

I dont how you can make your own luck outside of being positive and being aware of what is going on.

So I would have to say, luck is just luck, good or bad, it is written in the stars. LOL.

Hi Michelle! I miss chatting over here this week! Glad to visit! Don't put me in for this one! I loved it. I can't wait for Carly's LUCKY one!!

I'm a firm believer in luck. I do the lottery. I cross my fingers. I have all sorts of daft little good luck rituals. Or is some of that just OCD? LOL

The storyline of Lucky Streak sounds amazing! I have a fondness for anything involving Vegas, being a long time fan of CSI. :)

And yay, on the positive attitude, Carly. I do believe that looking on the bright side can make you feel better, even when life sucks.

Michele- I have forgotten about that!! LOL

I believe that some people are just plain lucky! I don't know if they're born under a good sign or what???
They win prizes in raffles , they never get sick, they have great kids, a great job and great marriages. They're happy and everything goes their way!!
I've also seen the opposite ...bad accidents, health issues to many family members, death, loss of jobs, kids in jail, drinking problems, emotional issues.
Both types can have faith, hope and love but fate seems to be giving one a BAD hand.
I definitely believe in LUCK!!
