Give Thanks For Romance (For Nerds)

ThanksDay #4/5

I'm thankful for EMD heroes who are moral and just and fight against evil while looking great covered in sweat. And, I'm thankful for romance authors who know readers are the heart of the industry and dig hanging with us.

Who are your favorite English Major's Dream heroes?

What a cool GuestBlogs coming up this week:

Monday, Nov 27 Marjorie M. Liu

Tuesday, Nov. 28 Sherrilyn Kenyon w/ Ravyn

Wednesday, Nov. 29 Eloisa James

Friday, December 1 Vivi Anna (Yes, our very bella Bella!)

Well Viggo does it for me big time! Aragorn is my favorite hero of all time. I wept every time I saw him on scene...

I also dig on David Duchovny, he's a sexy nerd.

Also Jon Stewart...I've been crushing on him lately too.

William Petersen (Gil Grisson on CSI) is my favorite nerd. I love it when he's hot on the trail of a killer. You can see the cogs turning in his brain as he solves the crime.

Hope everyone had a happy Turkey Day. I'm loving me some grandbaby!

Oh Marilyn...YES, I love Gil Grissom. So much, he was the inspiration for my Nocturne series Valorian Chronicles. I thought he would rock as a vampire...

An EMD hero who is "moral and just and fights against evil while looking great covered in sweat". BEOWULF any day, especially as played by Gerard Butler in "Beowulf and Grendel."

Adam Black from Karen Marie Moning's The Immortal Highlander springs to mind.

Vivi, love me the Jon Stewart! And the Mulder.

And Hugh Laurie is a definite EMD. Well, okay, as House he may be more of a Biology major's dream, but there's no law against interdisciplinary love!

Happy Thanksgiving weekend, Bellas!

Gasp! Manda, is that you??? We were just wondering about you the other day. Hope everyone had a great holiday :)

Aragorn, Mulder, Grissom - yep, I'm in total agreement. These men rock my world. I'm going to add my hottie Josh Bernstein (History Channel) to the mix. I just bought his book "Digging for the Truth" and that man is very smart - and he absorbs knowledge like a sponge. He's had quite an interesting life of his own.

I think it's not just the intelligence, but the passion for what they do that makes these men so appealing and sexy. To have a purpose, whether it's science or truth or honor, and to put intense focus into that purpose is just incredibly seductive. Makes one wonder what it would be like to be the center of all the....focus ;)

LOL, yes Stacy, I live:) Been missing you guys. Am getting over a Thanksgiving weekend cold! So unfair when you spend your holiday sick then when it's over you have to go back to work again. Grrr. But thankfully Michelle has kept the snaxy pix up to succor me through my illness...

I hope everyone had a safe and happy turkey day. I overindulged, as usual, but it was worth all the extra time I'll spend on the elypical. :o)

Look at this gorgeous group of women lined up for guesting. WOW!!

Marjorie- I've read A TASTE OF CRIMSON and loved it.

Sherrilyn- I haven't read but as a lover of the paranormal, I can't wait to see what she brings.

Eloisa- I just love her. She can do no wrong in my eyes.

Vivi- What can I say Miss Anna? She is such a beautiful person and I can't wait to see what (and who) she brings. Any hints, Viv?

Julie- no extra weight- sorry!! Not! We were in Manhattan, so all walking and no driving. But lots of shopping. And the kids new apt is right near a BIG DSW store!! I had me some fun!!

I love Grissom too. I think he should be with Lady Heather. She really rocks!!

But give me Duncan MacLeod any day. mmmm......especially in a kilt!!

Hiya Bellas! How's everyone been?? I hope you guys all had a fantabulous Thanksgiving!!=)

My favorite nerds? I'm with Vivi on the Mulder and Jon Stewart thing. Manda's got the right of it with Hugh Laurie.

I've got to try and get back on more often--maybe things will start to slow down for me between work and kids/home. I especially want to check out what Vivi has to say on Friday!! =)

Rach! Adorable piccy! The babes are growin' fast!

Hi Bellas! Hope everyone had a smashing holiday. I had a great one. Read two books, A STROKE OF MIDNIGHT by Laurell K. Hamilton (it's a Merry Gentry novel), which I loved! I really love this series and seriously wish she could write it faster. I know that alot of people love Anita Blake, and I like those too, but I'm much more partial to the Merry books.

I also just finished DROP DEAD GORGEOUS. Marilyn, I adored it! I love the LH acknowledged the PlayFriends in the end of it. IMO, she knocked it outta the park in this book! I loved Blair before, and I do still, but more than that, I've completely fallen for Wyatt! I really, really hope she writes more, although, I'd love to see her write Siana's book (books?!).

Did anyone else get some reading done this weekend?

Rach said...

Reading, MK? What's that?? :oP

Actually, I did get a chance to read a tiny bit for the first time since school started--seriously! I read REAL WOMEN DON'T WEAR SIZE 2. I was drawn to it because of the title. I liked the fact the heroine was a larger, curvier girl. It was pretty hot too! ;o).

I read MATCH ME IF YOU CAN. It was a great read but I discovered within the first two chapters that it is part a series. Why wasn't I told this before? I hate it when they do their quickie backstory and I don't know what they are talking about.
That is my only gripe. The story itself was fantabulous. :o)

Rach said...

Jules, was MATCH ME a series? I didn't think so, but if I'm wrong, let me know the other books I need so I can catch up! =)

Rach said...

Oh, wait, I'm being stupid and just realized I was thinking of COME UP AND SEE ME SOMETIME, which is absolutely *not* MATCH ME. DUH!!!

I feel like a *complete* and utter idiot! See, this is why it is better if I'm too busy to read my favorite blog--I save myself some red-faced embarrassment by not commenting...

The Chicago Stars books are *really* funny and delicious, Jules. You should definitely read them! =)

marykate- the new Merry book is out in Dec- Mistral's Kiss. I am looking forward to it too. I love LKH- I think I am first on the library list to get a copy. Will have to drop everything to read it too. ::sigh::

Rachd- Don't worry, I do that too. I have to go find a copy of Real Women. Sounds good!!

Hi Ev - Yeah, I realize the new Merry is out in December, but I won't buy it in hardcover, so I have a looooong wait for it, since her publisher insists on a full year between HC and PB. D*mn them! ;-P
