From Daytona, Con Amore

So here's the scoop: Travis Greiman is dreamy.

And what a sweet kid. I have to call him a kid, or else I'll forget he's my friend's very young son and start to ogle him.

Don't worry. Nathan Kamp remains numero uno in my heart. But I did happen to meet a very nice Italian boy, who happens to be last year's Mr. Romance. His name is Andrei Claude and he's very warm and has the most adorable accent. And he actually pronounced my name correctly. Go figure. Here's a shot of Travis, his mom, Lois, Andrei, and me. Life is good.

And here are two revelers from last night's "Vampires of the Caribbean" party.

Please go on over to Squawk Radio to read my "live" report.

Ciao for now!

Ooooh, Andrei. Michelle, could ya get any closer???(Sorry just off on a little jealous tangent there LOL)

Glad you're having fun - you look all tan and gorgeous, yet it appears you are all about work. We appreciate you "suffering" to give us the goods ;)

SquawkRadio hasn't posted your live report yet, so I'll be back later.

Great photos, Michelle. You look lovely, and it looks like the vampire party was a hoot!

Is the lady on the right the pirate's parrot?

Boy, it sure looks like fun. I wonder what the pirate had in her cup. She looks like she's having a VERY good time. *g*

Michelle, you look so relaxed and lovely. I can't wait to read your 'live from the convention'. Squawk doesn't have it up yet but I'll keep checking.

Michelle, Isn't Andei just the sweetest guy? I met him last year along with a couple of the other models.

Great pictures, and I'm sad to be missing the fun this year. I had such a blast last year. Maybe next year I'll be able to go. *sigh*

Okay, Lois does NOT look old enough to be Travis's Mom! Am I right, people?

Yay, so glad you're having a good time, Michelle! You look gorgeous--especially next to that snaxy Italian guy! A guy who can pronounce your name correctly is worth his weight in gold:)

Thanks for keeping us posted! It's a rough job, but somebody's gotta do it!

Julie in Ohio said...

I agree,Manda, Lois doesn't look old enough to be Travis's mom. I can't believe how tall he is. He has to be around 6'1" to 6'2"? yikes!

I'm only 5' to 5'1" so almost everyone looks like the jolly green giant to me.

I want to know how Michelle got tan so fast. I am a pasty white and she looks positively glowing.
Could it be the snaxy men she's with?

Manda Collins said...

Well, she did have that jaunt to Jamaica, Julie...though that was a while back. Maybe Minnesota is sunnier than we thought?

I'm 5'10" so tall guys like Travis tend to give me hope for the future. Not my future in particular, just in general...

New game I learned from Janga at Squawk. Make a sentence with words starting with the letters in your word verification. Here's mine:

A knitter's new bag requires quaint knotted velvet...

I'm into Travis. I think he is oh so gorgeous!
Oh, but my husband is gorgeous too so I can just ogle Travis.

Julie in Ohio said...

Manda, 5'10"? I'm so jealous. My DH is 5'10" and I have to stand on the sofa just to put my head on his shoulder.
I forgot about her vaca to Jamaica but I bet she faked it.
The tan, I mean. *g*

Kelley, I agree that Travis is ogle worthy. Even if I get a crick in my neck because of his height.

A sentence using the verification? I don't know about you but most of letters I get are z and x. I'm gonna need to keep a dictionary by my desk.

Xavier Entered Nancy's Zoo Blindfolded.

Ok, that was pretty fun. The sentence doesn't have to make sense, right?

Michelle Buonfiglio said...

OK. I am so not tan. Maybe it was the general warmth of the situation. You Bellas, I just heard from Eloisa James who said the blog'll be up soon. You are so cool to check it out.

Yes, Travis is very snaxy and his mom is so pretty. She was a model at one point.

I love the word verification sentences. I'm just getting ready to go to the big awards luncheon. We CosmoChix will be comandeering a table and will try to chew with our mouths closed, instead of laughing with them full.

I wish you were here; it's very fun. Really nice readers and authors. Many have commented about how nice you all are.

Now, I'm 5' 2", and am suddenly into the big, snaxy guys. Tall is nice. I love this idea of having to stand on the couch to kiss your husband. It reminds me of this really great scene in one of Sabrina Jeffries' books where the hero is so big he has to get down on one knee just to be level with the heroine's...Oh. That was unclalled for, I guess.

Went to a cool meeting with RT's reviewers this am. Neat to hear how they do what they do so well.

Finally, Stacy: I'm so glad someone appreciates the blood I sweat to bring you the important stories.

Well, Michelle, it's too bad you aren't having any fun. *g*

I hope they have good food for lunch. I've been to conferences where they try to fancy up dishes but it turns out no so good. As for laughing with your mouth full of food, just keep lots of napkins with you and you won't have any problems.

I hope we get to see more pictures. hint, hint.

I just typed the same first line over on Squawk. Honestly, I didn't mean it. I forgot I used it over here.
Is there an etiquette manuel for blogging that I should look at?

I'm not even going to try to make this a sentence: zkvibkgr

Yeah, that's a word.

Wow, Michelle! You look utterly exhausted from all your hard work. It's a good thing you have such a strong and snaxy guy to hold you up ;-).

Oh, and you definitely have more tan than I do. I glow under black lights.

Hmm, verification sentences?

One new plastic hose rolled straw mini waves.

(I think I may need some practice...)

Michelle, if you're not tan then you must be using wonderful makeup.

My parents just left for Florida. About 45 minutes west of Daytona. I am so jealous. I tried to get them to take me with them but in the end I got roped into grandma sitting. Which will be fun, too. I'm sure of it.
So, if you run into a couple who look lost and the woman is asking for directions while the man is up at the bar enjoying a Michelob, tell them that their daughter said , "Hi". *g*

Chad Noticed Emily's Silent Innocence.

I think I'm getting better at this. It is alot easier when you don't have all constentants (sp?)

Back in the room from an exhausting night enjoying the Faery Ball. Lots of folks in wings and glitter. I may have seen your folks, JulieO, but chances are they were dressed as the fey and I missed them.

I actually ventured outside the hotel today. beautiful weather.

I have a couple good pix, but my battery died. I'll get some new in the am and post after.

What have you guys been reading?

Hey Michelle, you are so kind to sacrifice on sleep to check in with us - saw the blog @ Squawk - love the myths that have been laid to rest - it was a fun way to present RT to us stuck here at home. And thank you for posting a bigger picture with Andrei - I wasn't sure of the color of his dreamy eyes, now I can't decide if they are dark or milk chocolate...well, they make me melt either way...

I'm reading Julianne MacLean's "My Own Private Hero", and Damian is just the hottest, snaxiest hero. It's book 3, and this time sister Adele, the good sister, is marrying a good man named Harold. She doesn't want the drama her older sisters went through. She meets bad boy Damian during some very unusual circumstances, and for the first time, she understands what attraction is, and for the first time, Damian must stay away from a woman he is strongly attracted to so as not to hurt his cousin and friend Harold. He's not used to resisting his urges, and it makes for one deliciously sexy read. Yummy. The first 2 books in the series are "To Marry The Duke" and "An Affair Most Wicked". Loved 'em both. I bought them because I've heard nothing but good things about the 5th story, "Portrait of a Lover" (#4 is "Love According to Lily") and felt compelled to start from the very beginning. Julianne said books 1-3 are not really part of the story, but some of the characters are in them, so of course I am anal and had to start at the first one. I highly recommend them to you historical lovers out there.

Hmmmm my verification: let's talk quietly with people

I'm sorry I missed this year. At least I'll be there next year, though...and about Andrei, isn't he a sweetheart? He'll be on the cover of my book The Daystar, so needless to say I'm dying for the cover to be done!

Michelle, you would know my parents in an instant. My mom would walk right up to you and introduce herself. You would have the family history within minutes. My sister got those genes. I got my dad's which means you would find me at the bar. *g*

Stacy, I haven't read Julianne MacLean yet, but I may have to. That book sound great.

Rene, when did you say that book is coming out?

I'm slowly working my way through Christine Feehan's Dark series. I up to Dark Decent which in the anthology The Only One. Although I adore these Carpathians, I find that I can only stay in the dark side for 2 or 3 books then I need to lighten up and I pull a book off my keeper shelf. I recently went back and reread JQ Bridgerton series in anticipation of Gregory's story. I have read those books so often, I can read all seven books in a week. I've also reread LK Bow Street Runner series, and Christina Dodd's Lost Princess series. I can't wait for the last book to come out but that's not until December.

The Yellow Umbrella Rained In Purple Yeast.

(Ok, so I still need practice. That and a dictionary.)
