In the spring, a romance lover's fancy lightly turns to thoughts of young men.
Michelle here, and let me tell you, this chick's ready for some sunshine, flowers and naughty goins on among the characters of the great new romances lined up on my to-be-read piles. I've got them neatly stashed where folks touring our on-the-market home can't see them! Oh, not because I'm ashamed of them. But in "staging" my home, I'm attempting to give the impression my house regularly is neither unkempt nor decorated with anything but artfully displayed hard-bound novels, sans dust jackets. Makes me feel a little like those silly aristocrats in historicals who buy books by the pound to fill their libraries.
For the next week, those of us here in the pink'll be spending time relaxing, doing a little business gettin' ready for the next phase of RBTB -- register for the quickie newsletter here, please, to stay utd on deets -- reading a lot of great new romance and trying to catch those first signs that spring is here to stay. In the meantime, you can check in to say hi and WIN, 'cause one randomly chosen commenter wins a Jenny Crusie 3-Pack: Hot new reissues of "Tell Me Lies" and "Crazy for You," plus her new wild read w/ wild-man Bob Mayer, "Wild Ride." You know the drill; have email available in comment or blogger profile to enter, please. Non-US resident w/in BookDepository delivery area chosen wins up to $10 book from BD.
Spring Housekeeping: Winner of "To Sin w/A Scoundrel" from Cara Elliott: deb. Winners of Lydia Dare books tba/notified soon. If you're waiting for another prize, please write michelle @ mbuonfiglio@rbthebook.com.
What says "springtime" to you like nothing else? What types of romances get you in a springtime mood? What spring releases can't you do without?

Good luck with all those prospective buyers trooping through your house!
Seeing the crocus pop up as well as the daffodils remind me of spring. Also seeing that first robin. By Friday it will be near 80 degrees here & frankly I cannot wait to sit on the deck w/my cuppa coffee and a good book. That tells me spring has finally sprung.
Happy Easter Bunny All.

It's springtime when it's still light out when you leave work at 6pm. A good romantic comedy is nice, but I can also enjoy a great suspense story in the warm weather.

Here, it's springtime when we've got Föhn which melts the snow away (good thing) and which also makes your head ache and your heart race (not good thing).
Seriously, it's springtime when the crocusses and snowdrops are growing - sure sign that the winter's gonna leave.
And may I say that the two chickens on the picture are absolutely adorable?♥
Books that get me in a springtime mood are light and funny like the one I'm going to order right now: Lois Lane Tells All by Karen Hawkins - the prequel to this one had me laughing out loud all the time and I expect nothing less from this one!
Michelle -
It's only a short 17 hour or so flight from there to Qatar. C'mon over for some desert sunshine! Best of luck on the house-selling.
Kelsey
PS - still eagerly awaiting big news from RBTB :).
For me means springtime, Hayfever. Not so much fun.
I like light, fun romances in the Spring...kind of goes with the mood. Winter is over, flowers blooming, temps rising, pastel colors, Easter...puts me in a great mood.
Authors like Sherryl Woods, Susan Wiggs, Debbie Macomber come to mind. I have several of their books on my TBR pile that I will delve into this weekend during the Dewey Read-a-Thon being hosted online.
Have a fantastic Spring break!!!
Forgot my email...too early in the morning...not enough caffeine...LOL

I love the sounds of birds chirping and cool gentle breezes and the smell of flowers. But I love my Highland stories no matter what the season is.Your baby chick picture is adorable.

Ahhhhchew, Spring is in the air. ;-)
Nothing says spring like when the mold count goes up and I can't breath and wow it's just in time to get the yard and garden ready.
Well don't work too hard Michelle and remember to leave the encyclopedias and pack all those HEA's.
Happy Spring everyone!!!
Deb
Spring is bluebonnets blooming, SXSW, bright colored fabrics/clothes, and flag football for my son. Oh, and let's not forget the humidity. (Can you tell I live in Central Texas? Ha!)
For books, I can usually count on new releases from Lisa Kleypas, Lisa Scottoline, and Stephanie Laurens. Just makes a girl giddy!

I made the mistake of loaning my copy of Crazy for You to a friend :( She never returned it.
Spring is definitely the time for romance reading. I picked up about 8 regencies from my used bookstore to further my education in that area. Absolutely loving them.
Hi, ^^
What says springtime like nothing else is mine and my sister's birthdays. ^^ My sister's is on the day of spring and mine is tomorrow. It's strange, but i always associate spring coming with our b-days.
Romances that have a lot of outside scenes or flowery gardens really get me in the mood for
spring. Spring is about going outside so what better romance to read than ones that have a lot of outside scenes.

Good luck with the house sale, Michelle. We did that a couple of years ago - God, the amount of work that went into the staging was ridiculous! Then we were afraid to do anything that would ruin the effect. Fortunately, the house sold within a week.
May your house sell quickly - nothing says spring like those For Sale signs popping up on the front lawns.
As for the books I'm looking forward to, I just bought Angela Knight's latest, and I'm eagerly anticipating the release of Toni Blake's next book.
Flower blooming say spring time to me! I like any kind of romance in the spring!

Hayfever says Springtime to me like nothing else. Those darned oak trees in my neck of the woods are dropping their pollen all over the place, filling my pool with debris and making me sneeze like crazy. I love the spring flowers thought, they always look so pretty.
When all the snow is gone, I think it's spring.

Seeing the plant my son in law gave my daughter before they were married pop up by our fence. He gave it to her while she was still living at home.
Am looking forward to Rachel Gibson's newest book, coming out in May I think and Sherryl Woods Sweet Magnolia books and Barbara Freethy's continuing series.

Good Luck selling your house.
Nothing says springtime to me like flowers blooming and allergies making their appearance. Great season to spend inside reading a good book in the sunlit window.

Happy Birthday, Jedisakora!!!♥
Happy B-Day Jedisakora, this year I'm starting to go backwards when mine comes in May ;-)

I love springtime flowers and smelling the grass. It puts me in the mood for books based in warm climates like Hawaii.
I would love a chance at your book.

Cherry blossoms mean spring for me! Also the dreaded need to cut the lawn.
Spring is no more snow, warm weather, flowers blooming.
Helen L.
yes Helen and we all know that snow is a 4 letter word and well flowers aren't ;-)
Deb
Springtime means higher temperatures, a lot of flowers and less rain.

Thank God it's Friday, and a holiday for a lot of people, but Nooooooo, not for me ;-)
Hey, everyone! Late to the party as usual hehe. But happy that I have Good Friday off, hehe! Love it! Means more time to read! Yay!
Oh, spring has definately sprung here in the MO, hehe. Flowers are blooming, not to mention the doogwood trees and the grass greening and blooming. Also all the thunderstorms creeping in but bringing in the warmer air. Love it!
tla1014@hotmail.com
spring here also; we just heard some thunder which is odd at this time but then it is April and comes the showers. The snow is gone and the gophers are out in full force. Beautiful weather lately.
I'd love to win the books.

Wow remember how I said TGIF, well now it's TGIM, really. I spent over 4 hrs driving yesterday to get to the family Easter celebration, See I think they should make it an edict. If a family member lives more than 30 mins drive time from you, you should not have to feel obligated to show up. I felt more tired than when I work all day. OK I'm off the soapbox.
Happy Monday.
Michele, are we there yet ;-)
Deb
Hey, Michelle!!! Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday.
The thing that brings spring to mind like nothing else is rain. Here in the midwest, April showers are a real thing. It almost makes us miss the snow...almost. ;o)
Have a great break all!!!
Julie, S N O W is a 4 letter word. I'm from the midwest and I don't miss it.
But I do hate those severe thunderstorms too.
the birds chirping & the trees starting to bloom/bud = spring is finally coming. particularly a relief this year after tons of snow in the mid-atlantic region. love the 1st day of the season that it's warm enough to open the windows and air out the house again -- then spring has pretty much arrived :) Next sign--cleaning the porch so can sit out there with a good book and enjoy the above items. gamistress66 at aol dot com :)
Wildflowers springing up out on the desert alerts us here in AZ that we only have one more month until triple digit degree weather. Also, the wind blows a lot during the spring and causes out allergies to go bananas.

The angels of morning come are beckoning my tastes of early morning dew. The chirping cacophony is music in my ears.
