New All-Romance Blog To Rock BN.com!

Well, you've done it now. You're so supportive of my new romance columns at "Unabashedly Bookish," that Barnes & Noble's asked me to step out and create with them a new, ALL-ROMANCE blog! I'm absolutely honored and thrilled -- and probably will need a regularly scheduled staycation, since I'll be here at RBTB daily, too, cause I can't live w/out you.

"Heart to Heart" (H2H) debuts Wednesday, July 15, "Live" from the 2009 Romance Writers of America national conference in DC! I'll be writing 3 H2H RWA posts daily w/scoopy news, photos of goins on and whatever drive-by bits and pieces might grab the flavor of an RWA experience. Write me @ mbuonfiglio@rbthebook.com with any RWA scoops you'd like me to try to cover!

Once RWA is over, "Heart to Heart" is an everyday affair at BN.com with my regular posts, BN.com "Romantic Reads" boards moderator, Melanie, checking in weekly to let us know what's comin' up there, plus whatever fun stuff we can cook up.

I hope you'll add "Heart to Heart" (H2H) to your blogroll and help me build the community there. I've written about romance many places, but Barnes & Noble understands readers and authors and books -- and they have a great, fun attitude that's infectious. I know you'll love it -- and I know they'll love you -- as much as I do.

Yes! Hey, I love the name too. And just wonderin' when you're gonna clone yourself you busy gal.

H2H lends itself to all sorts of cool logos for tshirts, coffee mugs and tattoos :) Can't wait for DC! The online promo workshop sounds great.

Congrats on expanding the world of romance.

Ooh, the new HTH blog sounds fabulous! I'm really looking forward to hanging there too. :)

Hope everyone has a wonderful time in Washington. I'm devastated that I won't be there. I remember a couple of years ago, swearing to the Bellas that I would make it to DC, and then in a bizarre twist, I managed to get to San Francisco, but can't attend *this* year!

But the HTH blog posts will help me savour a bit of it from afar.

Wow, great news and love the name. What I would love to hear about are all of the parties, i.e. Harlequin etc. plus about awards night and the red carpet!

This is fantastic, Michelle! I'm so glad B & N recognized your unique style and your ability to entertain with your blogs. Congrats on having your hard work recognized and rewarded!

Hope to see you in DC! I'll be giving a workshop there called NEUROTICA about adding a bit of humor to romance writing. Comedy is so dang hard, but you make it look easy with your quick wit. Brava, bella!

Wow, Michelle! Congrats on the H2H blog. I know you will do the romance community proud.

See you in D.C.

Buongiorno, Bellas! Grazie mille, thank you so so much for your congrats. And, totally sincerely, thanks for how you so supported the UB columns, cause it seemed to convince the nice folks at BN.com that readers and authors wanted even more romance at BN.com (even though the Romantic Reads message boards are really strong).

I'm still a little shocky about the whole thing, but as you can imagine, pretty enthused, too. And I'm looking forward to your help, keeping me utd with ideas for news and stories for H2H, and especially with stuff goin on in DC, even if you wanna pop me a line while there, or flag me down when you see me. :)

Heading to MN for a quick overnight - perhaps to find something for the RITAs? Not goin too glam this year, cause the economy's killin us all, no? But if I can find a steal, girlfriends... :)

See you later on today. And again, thanks for all the great well wishes.

Oooooooh, Michelle, that is so cool! You'll be one busy girl in the future, I tell you! I'll definitely add H2H (love the name, btw.) to my my bookmarks.

And you have to take lotsa pictures at RWA so that your poor European stuck-at-home romance mate (that would be me) is informed about what's going on, too.

Ok I LOVE, LOVE the idea and look forward to it, although I think you're a glutton for punishment, but then in romance, aren't we all! I mean look how we torture ourselves waiting for a new release for the likes of Shiloh Walker, Loretta Chase, Anna Campbell, and soooo many others.

Congrats QB, I'm soooo happy for you. I think it's faboo WOOT! Looking forward to seeing you next week.

Best of luck with it!

Oh, QB, this is fabulous! I just know you'll be great! Exciting, indeed!
Have a great time in Washington!

Congrats Michelle! That is fantastic news!

I hope you have an absolute blast at the RWA Nationals :)

Thanks very much, everyone. I'll definitely get the pics; I have the world's easiest-to-use camera so even I can make it happen, plus a new battery charger.

I was excited before for RWA, but I'm getting even more so now. The biggest challenge always is not staying up too late talking to friends you only get to see once a year, or whom you know from RBTB or emails, and have just gotten to meet in person.

Portia -- you have to make it to Nashville, because it would be the funnest thing ever to get a "British-type person's" impression of the heart of country music!

amy*skf said...

Oh yeah - Portia in Nashville - I'm fairly certain that would be an excellent title for an eroyic romance.

Becke Davis said...

Yeah, Nashville will be great -- it's only about a four hour drive from Cincinnati, so I'm definitely going!

Portia Da Costa said...

Would love to go to Nashville, but if I don't make that, I'm definitely going to shoot for NY! That is the US city I'd most like to visit. Would have to build some time into the trip to visit 1PP and ask to see Detective Goren! LOL

So awesome and cool!

WhEEEEEEEEEEEEE! Michelle rocks!

Becke Davis said...

Oh, I love that name, Heart to Heart. This is so exciting!

Becke Davis said...

Portia, I had a dream about you last night. Wish I could remember the details, all I remember is thinking -- "Oh, Portia, I know her from RBTB!"

Becke Davis said...

And, I agree -- what is it about Detective Goren, anyway? Maybe it's his intensity. I also like Elliott from SVU. He has single-handedly made male pattern baldness hot.

David B. said...

Congrats to the hardest working girl in Romance. H2H will be a smashing success.

I wouldn't limit it to romance, David - Michelle is one of the hardest working people I know of, anywhere!
