They Also Serve Who Stand And Donate

We don't remember today only those who've served and fallen in battle, or worn a uniform and lived to return to "common" lives as uncommon heroes. Today we take a moment to think about our troops worldwide -- from the computer and administrative support to the front-line patrol, the highest-ranking officer and every man and woman in uniform in between.

Romance lover Laurie Damron collects thousands of dollars in donations for our troops each year in the forms of gift cards, toiletries, books and more. Think about helping Laurie. Contact her at ljodamron@gmail.com to see what you can do for some of the brave men and women in our military!

Laurie is one of my heroes, for always thinking of others. She's collected for the troops for years, and does a special raffle at Lori Foster's/Dianne Castell's event. I look forward to seeing her in a few weeks.

I think your Memorial Day is the equivalent to our ANZAC Day. Which makes me think of:

At the going down of the sun, and in the morning, we will remember them.

Same here, Stacy. It's amazing to see the good Laurie spreads around the world and around the Internet.

That's really beautiful, orannia. thanks for sharing that with us. What does ANZAC stand for ? Or is it a word?

Lovely orannia. Laurie sounds like great.

I spent the day planting flowers and thinking of my uncle I never knew who was a pilot killed in WWII.

On a lighter note I finally got my pet's photo in. Yay!

That quote is beautiful, Orannia.

Us Brits celebrate Remembrance Day in November as a similar tribute to service personnel.

I often cry when I hear the Last Post sounded. It' so moving...
