Party In The House: Zack Knight Bares All! (Well, Almost)

INSTANT WIN CONTESTS ALL DAY!!! We're tossin' out FS5 trivia questions all day. Be the first to answer correctly in the comments to win the prize offered! Check out the hot prizes below, right. You only can win one trivia prize, but all trivia winners get a shot at a final copy of Jo Davis' "Under Fire," out tomorrow!

From the desk of Eve Marshall, firefighter/paramedic…

When Jo first asked me to interview my best friend and colleague, Zack Knight, I have to admit I wrung my hands in glee. The one guy at Station Five whose experience with women can fit on sideways on a grain of rice, and he’s going to be surrounded by them today. And I get to be his tormentor—er, interviewer. How perfect!

Now I’ve got the man here in our clutches, blinking amazing laser-blue eyes at me behind those wire-rimmed glasses and blushing furiously. Poor boy looks as nervous as a cat in a room full of rocking chairs. Shall we go easy on his poor, hunky self, ladies?

Hell, no! I think under that Clark Kent exterior beats the heart of Superman, so he can take anything we dish out. Let’s get started!

Eve: (I turn to Zack) Did you think I was going to make it that easy on you, buddy?
Zack (smiling shyly): Nope, but I’ve got a whole posse of ladies to help me out if I get into a tight spot, right? Hello Jo, Michelle, and Bellas!
Eve: Hmm, this is true. You’re always able to charm women with that cute, innocent face of yours. We’ll just have to make sure they know there’s more to you than meets the eye. To being, tell everyone, what made you decide to become a firefighter?
Zack: I’ve always wanted to be the guy behind the wheel of the big quint. I tell people that most boys outgrow playing with fire trucks, but I never did.
Eve: That’s very cool you were able to achieve your lifelong ambition and enter such a worthy career. But most don’t know that your father wanted something different for you. Would you mind sharing a little about that?
Zack: Well, okay. It’s not exactly a secret that my father wanted me to use my academic achievement to enter a more high-profile career. He had dreams of me being a doctor, lawyer, or even building the next space shuttle or something. I could’ve entered whatever career I wanted with scores like mine, but I wanted to be a firefighter. I don’t know what I’d do if I couldn’t be one anymore.
Eve: Thankfully, you won’t have to worry about that. What about your childhood? What was daily life like for young Zack?
Zack (laughing ruefully): Truthfully? Absolute hell. I never knew my mother—she dumped me on my father’s doorstep when I was a newborn and we never heard from her again. My father wasn’t the easiest man to please. Actually, there was no pleasing him. Ever.
Eve: But surely school was a reprieve of sorts. I mean, you were such a good student and a nice kid, too.
Zack: School was worse. There, I was ostracized for being smart, short, and fat. The three deadly sins, in my case. I lost count of all the malicious pranks they played on me.
Eve: In the end, however, success is the sweetest revenge. You’re smart, and grew into handsome, successful man. Right? (I’m wondering why there’s a flash of dismay in his eyes, why his gaze drops momentarily to the floor before recovers, offering me a wan smile)
Zack: Right. I know there are tons of kids like me in schools all over and my advice to them is to keep plugging. Ignore the bullies (to a point—go to a higher authority such as a teacher, school counselor, or parent if they persist) and pursue what you’re best at in spite of the taunts. One day you’ll be in college, vocational school, or in a job you enjoy, surrounded by people who share your interests and totally get you. Don’t give up.
Eve: Great advice. Now let’s talk about Zack today. Obviously, being sexy and intelligent, you’re a great catch. So how is it that you’ve made it to the ripe old age of twenty-six with no—how can I delicately put this?—experience with women?
Zack (bristling a little): Hey, I’ve dated! It’s just that the thought of sleeping with someone I don’t love…well, it leaves me cold. I’m waiting for my special lady. The one who stops me dead in my tracks, makes my head spin and my heart pound. Is there something wrong with waiting for love?
Eve (shaking my head): Not at all, my friend. I think that makes you a wonderful man any woman would be proud to call hers. And on that warm note, I want to thank you for being here with us today to visit with Jo, Michelle, and the Bellas.
Zack: No problem. I mean, I may be inexperienced, but I’m not dead! Look at all these gorgeous women…
Eve (laughing): Not dead at all. But you’re hardly a typical single man…and for that we’re extremely grateful! Ladies, you have the floor.

*Ask Zack, Eve, or Jo anything, OR share your views on the perfect single man today. Whether you’re single and looking, involved or not, experienced or not, what is your ideal of what a man would have to be like today to catch your eye—and capture your heart?

Well hello there darling Zack. Can I tell you a secret? Shhh, don't tell, but I've already gotten a chance to see your future, and my, my, my, you are in for one hell of a ride. But I have a feeling you think every second is worth it in the end. I love a man who stands by his principles, and waits for someone special. Cori is one lucky lady ;)

Oh Zack, I did have a question. Driving the quint, a huge responsibility and a rather well-respected job at the Station. How exactly does one aspire to that job? What additional training, if any, is required, or are all firemen trained to one day drive it?

LisaK said...

Hi Zack, how cool that you're here. I didn't have a chance to be here when your teammates were here, but lucky me - I'm finally in time.

And you really sound like a guy I would like. I'm rather smart myself and most men feel intimidated by it so I'd love me some man who can handle my brains. ;)

And I've got a question, too: In Trial by Fire, I felt like you and Julian didn't get along quite well. How's that? Only one of my wrong feelings or is it true? Any special reason as to why?

Can't wait for your book, btw. The shower excerpt is HAWT!

Michelle Buonfiglio said...

Buongiorno, Bellas, and welcome, Eve and Zack! Super cool to have you here. Eve, I've really been looking forward to having you visit cause I've been wondering whether you get enough girlfriend time, what with havin to hang with all those guys all the time. Not that they're not hot and all -- or totally sensitive like you, Zack and everything. But sometimes all that testosterone can get kinda overpowering, can't it? I mean, growing up in a household with four men, that's how I felt sometimes.

So I was thinkin we might do some girltalk today, too, ya know? Plus, you know, Sean Tanner said some interesting stuff a couple weeks ago we wanted to run past you...

PJ said...

Good Morning Zack! I have such admiration for you. It can't have been easy to stick with your vow of abstinence while you waited for the right woman but I'm oh so glad that you did. I sure enjoyed spending the weekend with you and Cori - even though you two kept disappearing on me. Just what were you up to? (grin) Like Stacy, I got an early peek into the Zack and Cori crystal ball and my advice is to buckle up. The thunderbolt is coming and your life, my friend is about to get very, very interesting!

Hi Eve! You're the kind of best friend everyone should have. I love how you look out for Zack's best interests. How did the two of you come to be so close? I've been wondering what your life is like among all those testosterone-driven males. It can't always be easy being the only female on the team but the guys seem to treat you as an equal. Was it always like that or has it been an evolving process?

Last question - for both of you. Is Tommy's cooking really as bad as we've heard?

Michelle Buonfiglio said...

Hi, Stace! Oh, yeah, man. I SO was wishin I were Cori. sigh. You're just such an earnest kinda guy, Zack, ya know? And leave it to you, Stace, to bring up the Big Equipment first thing in the morning...

It really can be all about the brains w/a guy, can't it, LisaK? Welcome; glad you finally were able to make it. Great question! And, yeah, I've read "Under Fire," and I still re-read the excerpt. :)

Michelle Buonfiglio said...

'mornin, Peej! Good call on having Zack brace himself. That Cori's just the perfect woman for him. She's feisty, all right. But she's also really bright, and bright chicks know when they've got somethin good in hand. Um, as it were...

Zack Knight said...

Hi there, Stacy!
I'm not sure my future is so bright...maybe I don't want to know. Tell me there's a light at the end of the tunnel (one that's not a train!) for guys who stick by their principles.

All the guys are trained to drive the quint or operate any piece of equipment. But being the FAO (fire apparatus operater) is an increase in rank and pay. The FAO is right under the captain and lieutenant, so it's a much-desired position in our dept. :)

Buffie said...

Good Morning to you, Eve and Zack (and all the bellas too!). It is so great to have you with us today. Like Michelle, I am very excited to get a chance to chat with Eve and see just how she handles working with a bunch of guys. Gotta be fun, but its gotta be hard too!

Zack, a man who stands by his principles is a man worth fighting for!! The woman who gets to love you all the way is one very lucky woman indeed! There is something special about knowing your partner has never been with anyone else.

I can't wait to read your story!!

So, here's my question for you . . . what do you when you are not working at the station?

Zack Knight said...

Hi LisaK!
Thanks, and I'm glad you're here, too! Let's here it for brainiacs. :)

No, you're not off-base about me and Jules. I know he was here last week charming the pants off the Bellas (literally, knowing him), but to me he's a major pain in the butt. Nothing he doesn't know. He's always playing rude jokes on me (no, the tampon incident was NOT funny--I may need therapy).

Um, shower scene...OMG, does everyone KNOW about that?! Shoot me now.

Zack Knight said...

Hi Michelle!
Girlfriend time? No problem. Just don't ask me about moisturizers, manicures and stuff. I gotta hold on to my man card, you know?

You guys got Sean to talk? That's amazing. I'd like to know what he said!

Michelle Buonfiglio said...

Welcome, Zack! LOL. Yeah, hear you on the train, pal. Let me say off the bat that you're a total inspiration to me and someone I love a lot for reasons I'm not at lib to reveal -- which, ok, cheeky Bellas, don't include the shower scene, although that, was pretty inspirational and it took Bella amyskf and I. like, 20 minutes to get over first time we read it.

Michelle Buonfiglio said...

Buffie, you must email me at mbuonfiglio@rbthebook.com

Zack Knight said...

Hello, PJ!
Buckle up, huh? Sounds ominous... And I'm curious about Cori..could this be the girl of my dreams? Hmm.

Yep, Tommy's cooking is gross. Even Beanie Weenies are a stretch, ya know? We're trying to teach him, but when he's trying to impress his girl, the only thing he should make is reservations!

Michelle Buonfiglio said...

Hey, Zack. You're a guy who likes to work w/his hands. Tell us a little bout that.

Zack Knight said...

Hi Buffie!
And thanks--you made me blush. :)

When I'm off-duty, I love to work in my shop behind the house. I have all sorts of woodworking stuff out there. I redid the cabinets in my house, as well as the stairs and stair rail, etc. I make all sorts of things.

One thing I don't do a lot is go to clubs. I do hang out at the Waterin' Hole with the guys sometimes, but that's about it.

Zack Knight said...

Michelle, I don't know how I could inspire anyone, but thanks. I'm just a guy who never got over playing with trucks. :)

Ooh, the shower scene...I'm going to go bury myself in a hole now...

Buffie said...

Zack -- I love a man that blushes!!! That just adds to the appeal, honey!

I think it is wonderful that you create things with your hands. And what woman doesn't love a man who knows how to use his handes ;)

Smooches to you!

LisaK said...

"...and bright chicks know when they've got somethin good in hand."

Oh yeah, definitely agree with that. *snicker*

Zack, no need to be ashamed because of the shower scene - women like that, believe me!

And your avatar is hot. Do you work out, in a gym maybe? Comes to my mind because you say that you were "fat" as a child. Or do these nice abs come from your job?

Buffie said...

Michelle -- I have emailed you. I'm heading out for to go shopping and have lunch with a friend. See you all this afternoon. Have fun!!!

amy*skf said...

Hi Zack and Eve, Jo (where are you?) Michelle and bellas. I see Stace was up bright and early to say Hi to you Zack.

Zack, I'm still not over it. Sorry. I think it's so cool that not only are you smart and brave, but you can build things too. Any man who can work with his hands is a gift.

I didn't mean it that way Michelle...er, maybe I did.

Eve, do you feel as if you have to be on your toes all the time, or are you just so used to it--the guy thing. Plus, do you still like to do "girly" things--paint your toenails, have your hair done, go out to lunch with friends, shop, etc?

Zack Knight said...

You girls are going to be the death of me!

I was short and fat as a kid. Now, the job helps keep me in shape plus I do work out some. Not as much as Six-Pack, though.

Zack Knight said...

Hi Amy!
Thanks so much. I love to work with my hands--stop laughing, ladies! I did NOT mean it like that!

What have I gotten myself into? Help!

Jo Davis said...

Hello everyone!
Good morning Michelle, Stacy, LisaK, PJ, Buffie, Zack, and Eve!

Just got my kids off to school, and while I'm doing this, of course the plumbing guy shows up to take out my sink while I'm still in my pj's and haven't showered!

But, I just have to shout...My new granite countertops are being installed TODAY!!! SQUEEE!!!

Now that I have that out for now, I'm so glad to be here! Poor Zack, you're never going to live down that shower scene... even my copy editor (a guy) loved that scene!

Michelle Buonfiglio said...

Oh, Jo! And I used to like you so much! But now you go braggin on your granite counter tops on top of hangin with the FS5 guys all day? Well, bless your heart, aren't you a lucky.

Michelle Buonfiglio said...

lucky girl. d'oh! I was trying to do the 'left-handed compliment thing!

Did I get that inflection right? the 'bless your heart?'

Suzanne Welsh said...

good morning Michelle, Bellas, Jo, Eve....annnd Zack! I am so excited your story is finally going to be on the shelves tomorrow!! I've been waiting a long time for you to get...lai...er get the girl. Perhaps not as long as you...but still...:)

Now, what to ask without giving up the good parts of this story... Cori is a woman who knows what she wants and isn't afraid to go after it, how did you overcome your shyness to get her attention?

Julie in Ohio said...

Morning, Bellas!!! Welcome, Zack and Eve!!

Zack, what can be said that hasn't already?? I give you major props for your will power and strength. You are definitely worthy of admiration. Being in a station with all those virile men telling stories that could curl your hair can't be easy. Ahhh, to be a fly on the wall on slow day..... ;o)

So do you guys have like station groupies?? You know, chicks that show up wherever you are, a walking temptation.

Eve Marshall said...

Good morning Michelle, Bellas, Zack, and Jo! I'm so happy to be here! I've never done this blogging thing, so bear with me. Google didn't want me to sign in this morning, but I think I'm set!

Michelle, I'm SO up for girl talk after being surrounded by men for twenty-four hours at a time. Well, yet, HOT men, so I'm not complaining, but still... :)

Michelle Buonfiglio said...

And by 'do you have station groupies,' Julie in Ohio means, "where do I join the club?

Michelle Buonfiglio said...

ooo, Eve, girl, do we have some dirt for yoooou?!

Michelle Buonfiglio said...

Oh, Suz, I so have to have a cocktail w/you at RWA. I believe there is nothing I could say that would shock you, which is prerequisite with those who are kind enough to hang with me.

Suzanne Welsh said...

Ah, Michelle, the liklihood of you finding me, and Jo, in a bar at RWA is very, very high! And since I deliver babies for a living...you'll have to work very, very hard to shock me! The stories I can tell!!

Speaking of stories...Eve, got any to tell about Zack?

LisaK said...

Jo, you have GRANITE countertops? You serious? How cool's that?

Oh my, I just read that I can't win anything because I don't live in the States. *sniff* Anyone who wants to collect for poor me?

Eve, have you always been with guys and done boy-things as a child (like playing with the truck Zack mentioned) or were you simply a girly girl who decided to fight the prejudices in the world and get what supposedly is a men's job?

Julie in Ohio said...

Am I that transparent, Michelle??;p

Eve Marshall said...

Hi PJ!
You're right, it's not always easy working with all men. Thank God I don't have to use their bathroom, or listen to them snore because I have my own bunk. LoL. But put that many alphas in one space and tempers are bound to flare once in a while.

I think Zack's sweet personality is what drew me to him. He's like this cool Zen guy, almost like Yoda--except WAY better looking! We took to each other from the start, and he's my best friend. No sexual attraction there, just that person you know will be there no matter what. That's rare in a male/female friendship, I think.

Michelle Buonfiglio said...

Lisa K, I need to adjust the rules and keep forgetting. For prizes I give, if folks live outside the states, I'll either send an e-cert from an appropriate online bookstore for the amt a gift might cost (plus shipping w/in states) -- or same/similar item from Book Depository in UK. If prizes come from authors or publishers, the call to ship outside the states is their call, but, generally, they ship outside the states. :)

Michelle Buonfiglio said...

Eve, it's pretty remarkable not to have any attraction to a guy who's hot. I know they say that men size up every woman they meet as a potential sexual partner, and I'm not so sure women don't do the same. Yeah, there are lots of exceptions, of course w/age, etc., so we'll leave out the creepiness factor of that broad statement.

But I'm wondering, is there any guy at FS5 whose ever turned your head? Maybe on another shift or something?

Eve Marshall said...

Hi Amy!
yes, when I first hired on at Station Five, I did feel as though I had to be more on my toes than the guys in order to compete. I was tense back then, perhaps a bit defensive. But they gradually put me at ease and made me feel a part of the team. I'm lucky, because I know for a fact not all teams are so welcoming to women. My guys rock!

Ps--yes, Tommy's cooking is dreadful. But he's learning! :)

Billie Jo said...

Good Morning!

Awwww Zach. sigh.

Hey Suzy!!! JO!!!!! I can't wait to go to the store tomorrow to get this book...WOOHOO.

Jo...Are you ready for another Jungle Punch? LOL

Billie Jo

Eve Marshall said...

Oh, I forgot to say that I LOVE to do girly things! I fix my hair off-duty, but at work I usually just pull it back out of my face. I like to get spa pedicures. That's my indulgence because nails wouldn't last in my job. I'd hate to get them ripped off while working a fire or rescue! But ooh, to get my feet massaged and pampered...pure bliss!

amy*skf said...

Granite...ahhh.

Zack, I used to play with trucks as a little girl--my favorite was a dump truck that I would (try) to pile with salamanders and frogs. But then I got my first Barbie...sometimes I'd have both out--the dolls and the trucks.

Eve--I have so had that, totally hot guy but just not attracted to him sexually. Weird.

amy*skf said...

What color on the toes Eve?

Hey Jo, I have already made plans to drive to B&N on wed.(day off) at 10:00 am for your book and maybe some coffee at Starbucks.

Suzanne Welsh said...

Hey Billie Jo!!

Girl, you are so gonna love this book. Zack and Cori will make you cheer for the underdog...and then there's the whole special scene...er...uh... hmmmmmm

Michelle Buonfiglio said...

All due respect, Ames, but: huh?

Tracy Garrett said...

Hi Jo, Zack & Eve. Morning, Bellas!

Jo, what's it like to live with all these firefighters tromping in and out of your office all day on their days off?

Eve, what do you do on your days off? Something girly or do you hang with the guys then, too?

Tracy G.

Michelle Buonfiglio said...

What about facials, Eve? I'm becoming addicted, although they're such a guilty indulgence.

You say the guys on your team are great, but do you have to prove yourself or totally draw the line to keep any other guys on the job from treating you as 'less than?"

Estefanie said...

Hey Zack. What's your idea of a perfect date?

Billie Jo said...

Suzy

You BIG tease! That is so not fair..LOL

Billie Jo *running around to see what she can beat Suzy with*

Billie Jo said...

Tracy!!!

Hey girlfriend!

Billie Jo

Billie Jo said...

Jo,

When does The Captain get his story?

How do you keep your h/h's straight? Do you use post it notes or do you plot it all out?

Billie Jo

Suzanne Welsh said...

You know...with new granite countertops...I wonder exactly Jo has in mind to do with them when these firefighters are traipsing through her office on their days off. They are very solid, you know. (The countertops, not the guys.)

Zack, got any ideas for those?

Billie Jo said...

Zach darlin,

How well do you and your captain get along?

If the woman who owns your heart is kidnapped and the building is burning around her, how would you proceed to get her out?

Billie Jo

Tracy Garrett said...

"They are very solid, you know. (The countertops, not the guys.)"

Suz, the guys are pretty solid, too, don't ya know?!

Hi Billie Jo!!!

Jo Davis said...

Hi Amy, Suz, and Julie!

Yep, Michelle, granite, baby! Read it and weep! It's the new kind that doesn't have to ever be sealed, too! Just to rub it in...hehe. They are here banging away now. (hey, get your minds out of the gutter!) :)

And Michelle, find me and Suz in a bar at RWA? I'm shocked, I tell you! :D

Jo Davis said...

Hi Billie Jo!!
I am SO ready for another jungle punch! :D

The captain gets his story in December 2010! Yay! Tommy's story will be out before that, in June 2010! The most plotting I do is my synopsis that goes to my editor. I don't do charts and character sketches--I'm not that organized! :)

You and Amy are so sweet for making plans to go out and buy Zack's story. I hope you enjoy it! :)

Jo Davis said...

Hey Tracy!!
Those fireman traipsing through my office keep me pretty distracted, he he. But what a great job!

Suz, those guys are pretty solid, too! Able to take a pounding... >:)

Eve Marshall said...

Michelle, I hear you. Believe me I appreciate the hot-ness of the guys on my team in a purely casual way! But there *is* one who captured my heart a long time ago, and doesn't even know I exist as a woman. I'm sure you can guess who.

It's so hard watching Sean suffer, yet knowing any move I make toward him personally in comfort or romantically would be totally inappropriate. I'm sure some of you can relate...

flchen1 said...

LOL, Jo! I'm going to look at my granite countertops (actually engineered quartz--we got the fake stuff) in a whole different light now... Glad those boys can take a pounding ;)

Hi, Zack and Eve--terrific interview today! Very glad to meet you! And congrats on your success--that is sweet revenge for any of us who've been frustrated by not meeting other people's expectations for us!

As for what a man would have or be to catch my eye and capture my heart, the tall and hunky always catch my eye, but to capture my heart, he'd need to be honorable, thoughtful, and generous in spirit. Doesn't have to be the most outgoing person or the most handsome, but someone who is more than willing to pull his own weight in a relationship and in life :) Sappy? You bet! :D

RachieG said...

Who doesn't like a hot firefighter? Their cute, have the hero thing going on..and they know how to put out fires! wink wink! Can't wait for tomorrow when it comes out!

LisaK said...

Eve, you make me sniff. I can't wait for a certain book to come out so that two certain persons find happiness...

Michelle, now I'm relieved. Great that I can participate, too!

Ladies, ahem, kindly remove your thoughts out of the gutter! Solid guys? Pounding? There are decent people here who read that! - Oh, what do I hear? No decent people? Well, okay. You may go on! :)

Zack and Eve, have you read Howard and Kat's story? And if so, what is it like, reading kinda ... personal ... details about your colleague?

Michelle Buonfiglio said...

OK. So I'm totally the 'if you tell me in confidence, I'll never, under pain of death, not even if Fabio Cannavaro invites me to sit on his lap for the afternoon repeat it to another soul' type. But, Eve, if I may quote directly from comments in his GuestBlog from two weeks ago: "Can I say she's pretty without sounding like a pig since she's one of my team? Don't tell her I said that, though. I'll never live it down.s'all's I'm sayin.

Eve Marshall said...

Amy, I like hot pink on my toes because it's SO opposite of how tough and tomboysih I have to be at the station. (at least that's the way I feel--sort of de-womanized there in that environment, if that makes sense?) Hot pink is fun and flirty. :)

Tracy, I like to dance, go running, most anything physical. I do like to hang out with the guys on our days off. Sometimes one of them will grill out and have a bunch of guys over from other shifts too, and sometimes we go to the Waterin' Hole to shoot pool.

Michelle, I've done facials a couple of times and I like them. But the pedicures are so much more soothing to me after being on my feet so much! I also love a full-body massage once in a while.

Michelle Buonfiglio said...

That would be from one Sean Tanner, btw. I was so excited to share, I forgot to clarify. My bad-girl bad.

Eve Marshall said...

Michelle, great question--the guys don't treat me as less than them, but I do get a lot of good-natured teasing. I have to have a tough hide around them, no question. I have to be able to take a joke, and dish out my own stuff to them accordingly!

Michelle Buonfiglio said...

flchen, you so totally are spot on: someone who is more than willing to pull his own weight in a relationship and in life Guys generally aren't conditioned to know that part of the equation, but they can be taught! I'm working on my soond-to-be 12 year old now. He's at that impressionable age where he keeps asking, "what do girls want?" I tell him how once they get past the "money, looks, power stuff (except in romance novels where that's always encouraged and acceptable), they learn to look for the good stuff. And some learn to look for it before the other stuff. But don't think that means we don't want you to rock college and become successful enough to keep us well heeled in our retirement."

Eve Marshall said...

Hello flchn1 and RachieG! Flchn1, I'm with you on that perfect man. Maybe one day I'll have my own...

Michelle Buonfiglio said...

Great question for Zack and Eve, LisaK. And, btw, you seem to fit in so well, here, recognizing the general happy lack of decency... :)

Michelle Buonfiglio said...

Hi, RachieG! It is exciting, isn't it? I've read it, and I still can't wait for everyone else to, um, too.

Zack Knight said...

Hello Suz, Julie, and Tracy! Great to see you here!

Now Suz, behave yourself! Cori has all sorts of ways to get my, er, attention...what kind of guy would I be if I kiss and tell? :)

Julie, we don't have station groupies, per se. But we do get a lot of attention on calls sometimes, not to mention when we're in the grocery store or doing a school talk for the little kids in uniform. We try to take it in stride, but the attention can be embarrassing--like when a woman flashed us at a red light one time! oh, brother...

Michelle Buonfiglio said...

Zack! doing a school talk for the little kids in uniform! The moms ogle you on those kinds of things? Why, I've never heard of such a shameful thing. I'm shawked, I tell you. Shawked.

Zack Knight said...

Hi Estefanie!
I'm pretty old-fashioned. My perfect date is wine, a quiet dinner and candlelight with a woman who enjoys cuddling and good conversation. I want to treat my lady like a princess, open her door, pay for the movie, whatever. We have to click and truly like being around one another for me to even consider taking the next step.

Like I said, old-fashioned!

Eve, since Zack is your best friend, did you feel a need to check out Cori at any point...you know, to see if her intentions were honorable. (Grinning at Zack.)

Zack Knight said...

Suz, I'm SO not going there with the countertops. Naughty woman, you.

Hi Billie Jo! Sean and I aren't getting along too well right now for a number of reasons. I can't seem to do anything right around him lately, and I've been late to work a few times which doesn't help. I'm on his radar now, and things suck. But I have extenuating circumstances, and at least Six-Pack is willing to listen and understands.

Hmm, if my love was stuck in a burning building...that would be the worst situation for me because I'm not allowed to leave the engine. As the FAO, I man the pumps, so I normally don't go inside the buildings. But if Cori was inside, I can't say that I wouldn't break that rule in panic. But if I did, I'd get into a LOAD of trouble...and it wouldn't matter as long as I got her out.

Suzanne Welsh said...

Zack said: Suz, I'm SO not going there with the countertops. Naughty woman, you...

Hehehe..oh come on, you know you thought about it!

Zack Knight said...

Read Howard and Kat's personal details? Eww. Man, I'm so not going there! Eve would, tho... :)

Michelle, yep we get ogled my moms, teachers, etc. Pretty funny.

LeeAnn said...

Happy Monday Everyone! For some reason mine is going really well.

And what shower scene?! Ugh I don’t want to wait till tomorrow to find out! I think we can all guess where I’ll be at lunch time tomorrow :o)

Eve I think that it’s great that you get along so well with your team. My girlfriend is a firefighter as well and she loves it. It’s what she always wanted to do and she worked really hard to get to where she’s at. I think it’s great that you’re doing your dream too.

Zack I just have to say that you’re a special person. There aren’t very many people who stick with their principles these days. And good for you for waiting for that special person; I think it’s harder on men then it is on woman since men tend to get ridiculed more for it.

Jo thanks for having the team come by. It’s been so much fun getting to know them a little bit better.

Zack Knight said...

Hi Diana! Great to see you here.

Hmm, Eve's done lots of things that have moved me. One thing recently was when the captain was totally going off the deep end, chewing me out, and she stepped between us to try and get him off my back. I never told her how much that meant to me, until now. Thanks, Evie.

Zack Knight said...

Hi LeeAnn! Thanks so much, I appreciate you saying that. My stance on sex/relationships hasn't always made me the most popular guy, but that's ok. When the person is right for you, then you'll know, and that's different.

Michelle Buonfiglio said...

LeeAnn. Read. The. Excerpt. The link's at the bottom of Zack and Eve's post. Sorry, Zack, big guy. Guess I"m throwin everybody under the bus -- or the truck -- today.

flchen1 said...

SO true, Michelle--that's one of the things about raising sons! (And daughters are whole 'nother story!) Yay for you for showing them the right way to be :)

Zack, good to know that love'll trump the job every time! Of course Cori's worth getting into a load of trouble for--may you never have to find out, of course!

Michelle Buonfiglio said...

Diana! How cool to see you, Miss Dangerous Romance Girl!

Oh, man, flchen, you said it on the daughters. sheesh. :)

Jo Davis said...

Hi Flchn1, Diana, and LeeAnn! Great to see you here.

Ok, I think it's time for a prize!! Let's go for the manicure set to start with. First one to answer correctly--and remember, one prize per commenter!

**WHAT DISH DID HOWARD MAKE FOR KAT THE FIRST TIME HE MADE DINNER FOR HER IN TRIAL BY FIRE?

Julie in Ohio said...

For some reason I'm thinking it was an Italian dish but for the life of me I can only guess, lasagna.

:kicks self for not bringing book to work with her:

Billie Jo said...

what is your ideal of what a man would have to be like today to catch your eye—and capture your heart? "

My idea of a perfect man is my husband. He is smart, sexy and above all he has the most wonderful sense of humor. And he is absolutely wonderful with his children.

Billie Jo

flchen1 said...

Ooh, Billie Jo--definitely, on the sense of humor. How could I have forgotten? Can't live without a man who can make you laugh! And good with kids is definitely keeper material!

LeeAnn said...

Oh. Wow. That shower scene. *fans self*

Thanks for pointing out the link Michelle.

Jo Davis said...

Ooh, Julie you are SO close! Can you be a teensy bit more specific? The answer is closer than you think... :)

Jo Davis said...

Billie Jo, you are SO right! My dh is a wonderful father, and our kids adore him. Funny how our "perfect man" requirement changes as we get, er, older... :)

LeeAnn said...

Was it the Chicken Lasagna Alfredo Roll-Ups?

I’m guessing off the post with all the yummy recipes :o)

Michelle Buonfiglio said...

Sometimes, Jo, our requirements can change as our perfect guy changes, too. :) but if Male Perspective Guy shows up, don't tell him I said that. He'll remind me I used the word "perfect" while referring to him, and I'll never be able to use the 'shades of meaning' defense.

Jo Davis said...

LeeAnn got the answer exactly! Sorry, Julie...but there are more questions to come!

LeeAnn, email Michelle at her addy for your prize! Congrats!

Jo Davis said...

Michelle, that's so true! :) LOL.

Billie Jo said...

Flchen,

LOL. Gotta love a man with a sense of humor. Yep he is definitely a keeper.

Jo....My kids adore their father too. Now I know you are not talking about ME and older...now are you? LOL

Yep it definitely changes. When I got married the first time young, all I wanted was a stable man who would love me. BOY was I looking in the wrong direction...LOL UGH
Who would of figured a sense of humor would have counted for something...LOL

Billie Jo

Julie in Ohio said...

Check you out, LeeAnn. Now I'm doubly kicking myself for not thinking of that. ;p

Just to be different, I'm gonna say a veggie lasagna.
Although I'm pretty sure that's not it. :grumble, grumble:

flchen1 said...

Mmm... that sounds yummy--I think I'll have to try that recipe sometime!

And hee, Michelle--wouldn't do to let MPG think he might be "perfect"! Gotta give him something to aspire to ;)

Jo Davis said...

Ok, let's go for the pedicure set now, too. This is a gimme question, ladies...

**WHAT IS ZACK'S IQ LEVEL?

Julie in Ohio said...

YAY, LEEANN!!!

Suzanne Welsh said...

Zack's IQ level, I know, I know!!

Wait...I don't get to play...pouts!

flchen1 said...

Off the charts? ;)

Michelle Buonfiglio said...

Congratulazione,LeeAnn!

Exactly, lfchen.

Jo Davis said...

Billie Jo, we're not getting older. No way. We're getting better, honey! All those young studs don't know what they're missin' now that we're off the market! :D

I hear you on the first time around! Boy was I waaay off--I just thought he had to have a steady job be "fun" to be around! UGH!

Julie in Ohio said...

I don't suppose I can answer with "Einstein High", right?? =oD

flchen1 said...

Hmmm... 150? I guess that's still technically on the charts, right? :p

flchen1 said...

And really? Does Zack really have the social life of a turnip? What about the other root vegetables? Parsnips? Carrots? (Maybe carrots get out more?)

Jo Davis said...

Flchn1--yes! Zack's IQ is 150! I was going for "genius" but the exact number works fine, too. :)

Email Michelle for you pedicure set and congrats!

Jo Davis said...

Flchen1, at least carrots get nibbled as snacks...hehe. Who sits around nibbling on a turnip? :)

flchen1 said...

LOL! OK, good point! And woohoo!

PJ said...

150? I'm home for lunch and going from memory.

~PJ

Jo Davis said...

Suz, why don't you get to play? Oh, wait--you're one of my CP's and you know all the answers! :D

PJ said...

Oops...shoulda refreshed first. Congrats, Flchen!

Jo Davis said...

Yep, PJ, it was 150, but flchen1 got it first! More questions coming in just a bit...

Julie in Ohio said...

LOL!! Jo, if that turnip looked like Zack I'd be willing to give that turnip a nibble. ;o)

Congrats, Flchen1!!

Billie Jo said...

LOL Jo!!!

Funny you should mention that we are getting better because I was trying to tell that to one of the young models at RT...LOL

How about a radish? LOL
I am not big on root veggies...ewww

Billie Jo

Suzanne Welsh said...

JO..........duh

Suzanne Welsh said...

By the by, I love the pic of Zack opening that hydrant!! yummo!!

Zack, honey, you don't look anything like a turnip, no matter what Jo says!

LisaK said...

flchn1, how come you know the exact number? Seems I'm not good enough for that sort of game, I don't even know where I have to look up!

Oh my, you guys are so sweet talking about your husbands. I wish for a man like that for me, too.

All the talking about IQs combined with the fact that I'm going to have a chemistry test tomorrow (fortunately it's the last one in my "career") gave me the idea for another question:
Zack, what was "your" subject at school? Were you an all-around-genius with As everywhere or were there things that interested you more than others? Like, I'm the languages-/arts-type. Science? Not so much. Know what I mean?

amy*skf said...

A girl leaves for a little shoppin expidition and finds over a hundred comments and prizes won!

D'oh!

Michelle, I'm seriously getting a huge kick out of you throwin' people under the bus--cuz I do know how you can keep your lips sealed. And what were you having a problem with in one of my earlier posts? The truck or the not being sttracted to a cute guy?

Princess Bumblebee said...

Hey, Bellas! Welcome Zack, Eve, and Jo!
Wow, all this talk of hard, solid, and pounding makes me want to run out and get a job as a firefighter! Whew!
Eve, if I WERE a woman firefighter surrounded by hawt mens, which, by the way, Zack, not intended to make you blush or anything, but dang, that is some nice picture, there, but I don't think I would get any work done. A fire wouldn't have to be faught for me to heat up, hehe. But, I gotta give you props for standing up in a man-dominated world full of big firemen with their big muscles and...ok, what was I saying again?
Zack, blushing aside, I would LOVE a man who would treat me like a princess...hence, my name, and as one who's saved herelf for that perfect man, lots of props here, bro. Also, not only would I expect him to spoil me, but have confidence enough to prove himself willing to work in the relationship, a sweet, take-charge guy who spoils me rotten. And who has a Harley and takes me to rock concerts on our dates. Do I know what the perfect guy is or what?

flchen1 said...

Lisa, I wish it was because I had an in with Zack, but it was in the first chapter of his story. *sigh*

Good luck with your exam! I'm sure you'll rock!

LisaK said...

Question for everyone here:
Is it normal that one sees a hidden sexual meaning behind everything? Or is that just me and my dirrrty mind? Oh my.

amy*skf said...

LisaK, it's complETEly normal. My mind is constantly in the guttah--but it is my happy place. And good luck from me too.

Princess--you do have the perfect guy in mind.

LeeAnn said...

YAY thanks Jo :o) Wow what a fun day today :o)

Buffie said...

Wow, this party is really kickin' into full swing now. I'm back from shopping and lunch with a girlfriend who's hubby is such a stick in the mud! Poor girl needed some time away!

With all this talk about the shower scene, I need to go back and read it again!!! And again, and again! Sorry Zack! Or maybe a better thing to say is thank you Zack!!

Buffie said...

LisaK -- hey girl, you are in some really good company around here :)

Zack Knight said...

Thanks, Suz! What veggie DO I look like? :)

LisaK, congrats on your last chemistry test tomorrow! You'll do great. Me, though I scored high in all subjects, I was a science nerd. My father wanted me to attend MIT so badly he couldn't stand it. But that wasn't what I wanted. I know, some would slam me for my choice, but I'm proud of my decision to become a firefighter.

Say, Jo's brilliant niece attends MIT! Now there's a lady who'll build the next nuclear rocket or something...

And LisaK, you'll fing the man of your dreams. Probably when you aren't even looking. Chin up, girl. :)

Michelle Buonfiglio said...

Hmmm, sexual innuendo, LisaK? I'm not sure what you mean? ok, yeah. If we can twist it, mash it up or turn it around so it ends up naughty, we make it so. Still wanna hang with us? Hope so. :)

Wow, talk about shocking, principessa added a motorcycle to her list of Things a Great Guy Needs to Rock PB's World.

beverley said...

Hands down, honest above all else.

Zack Knight said...

Hi Princess! Thanks for joining the party. That perfect guy is out there somewhere. Or, thinking of Michelle's point, near-perfect. We like some wiggle room to mess up, ya know! And we will, trust me.

That said, Eve is pretty good about ingoring us *that* way. To turn it around, don't think we haven't noticed how smokin' she is, too. Just sayin'. :)

Michelle Buonfiglio said...

Hey, are you almost to graduation, LisaK? How cool!

Zack, my son's dying to go to MIT. I'm hoping he'll go back to being interested in fire trucks. There has to be a reason he made us sit through "There Goes a Firetruck!" 4,763.7 times in his toddlerhood. There just hasta be.

Suzanne Welsh said...

Zack....you naughty boy. I could say a zucchini...but uhm will refraind. In fact, I'd say you were more a beef course!

Zack Knight said...

Hi Beverley,
Yes, honesty is right up there at the top. If nothing else, I always try to be honest.

Zack Knight said...

Ooh, Suz! You are so bad! I was thinking a nice, big...cumcumber. But a zuchini is good, too.

Where's the beef? Right here, ladies. he he

OMG, you all are corrupting me!

Michelle Buonfiglio said...

Yeah, honesty is a good one. But also the understanding of when not to be entirely honest. If the questions begins, "Do/Does These/This jeans/makeup/hairstyle/etc look bad?" The answer always is, "You're gorgeous! They/it/etc. look/s great. I LOVE YOU and am the luckiest guy in the world that you even noticed me let alone love me back."

Thank you.

Michelle Buonfiglio said...

Oh, Zack. I'm so sorry. These women, well, they tend to get carried away some times if I don't supervise them very carefully. Is there anything I might do to make you more comfortable?

Buffie said...

Zucchini, cucumber, and beef?? Now you all are making me hungry and I think I need a Zack Attack dish to satisfy me! LOL!

flchen1 said...

I'm sure Zack *always* satisfies, Buffie ;)

LisaK said...

Thanks for your support, guys, I already know that it won't be that good, but, hey, Zack Knight wished me luck. What else does a girl want?

Michelle, I'll graduate only next year, but I won't have chemistry anymore, then. There are certain subjects we can drop and this is one of them, thank god!

I don't think I'll ever be able to buy veggies again without thinking of ... yeah, Zack opening his hydrant, as Suz puts it. *g*
Zahack, wanna come over and help me cool down a bit? It's suddenly very hot in here!

amy*skf said...

Yeah Michelle--honesty can be over-rated, but Beverley, I think we know what you mean...

I have to go to work now, I can't tell you how much this "job" thing gets in the way of fun.

amy*skf said...

Buffie--me too, I'm starved. And Lisa, you'll just want to buy more veggies.

Buffie said...

flechen, I'm pretty positive he always satisfies! LOL!

LisaK -- I bet Zack could pull out that big hose of his to cool you down. Of course you have to burn pretty hot before you cool down. Maybe Zack needs to come to my house too!

LisaK said...

"Zack Attack" sounds good, Buffie. I think you should apply for a patent here. And then advertise it. Like Buy zackattack - you'll be smokin' satisfied

Buffie said...

Amy, as I have always said . . . I think we must be sisters separated at birth!!!

LisaK said...

Buffie, let's share, shall we? ;)

(Pssst, I can see Zack blushing, so don't say that too loudly!)

Buffie said...

LisaK -- let's just say I wouldn't mind not one bit if I was attacked by Zack. Sounds kind of fun to me!

Buffie said...

Hey, I'm all for sharing. I bet there's plent of Zack to go around and around and around. I mean really these firefighters are used to be on duty for 24 hours straight! te he!

Billie Jo said...

LOL

Oh my poor virgn eyes.

Jo...did you notice who is being the good one here?

Billie Jo *straightening her halo*

Buffie said...

But Billie Jo, it is so much fun being bad!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL!

And if Zack wants a halo, I'm sure I could find one to go with an outfit! ;)

LisaK said...

Phfff, angels, hah, I'm a redhead and I always have to be the devil. I'm sure Zackyboy would prefer that. *grin*

Btw, I'm kinda glad that Cori isn't around today.
Ahem.
She's not, is she?
You sure?

Zack Knight said...

Zackattack? Sharing? OMG. I think I need a reeeeally cold shower now!

Jo Davis said...

Billie Jo, no one's fallin' for the innocent act, girlfriend! And anyways, bein' bad is SO much more fun... :)

Julie in Ohio said...

Zack, did you mention a shower??
Need some help getting those hard to reach places???

Jo Davis said...

Ok, guys... I'm going to give folks a bit longer to get done with lunch or whatever and then post another prize question soon... :)

Michelle Buonfiglio said...

Alright, I can see that now I -- and if this doesn't sound scary, nothing does -- as the, ahem, voice of reason needs to step in to redirect this conversation before all hell breaks loose and we scare poor Zack and maybe even Jo away for good.

Now, Zack, I need to know about something very serious: your fantasies. Oh, ok. Really, what I want to know is this. Back when we were learning more about Howard and Kat, you seemed like somethin might be gettin under your skin -- and not jst Julian and his pranks. What's goin on? Anything you wanna share?

Tracy Garrett said...

Billie Jo, did you just say halo?! With a straight face???

Billie Jo said...

I can't post anymore :-(

Billie Jo

Julie in Ohio said...

Zack, I'm sorry if I embarassed you. I'm the good girl here and know first hand what it's like to be red in the face. And although we do enjoy poking fun please know it's not meant to be anything but.

Now what can you tell us about your girl??

Billie Jo said...

LOL JO!!

What innocent act? You know as well as I do that I am the good one in the bunch.

Besides not to many people here know me LOL

Billie Jo

Billie Jo said...

LOL Tracy!!!

I did!! With a purely innocent look on my face :-)

Billie Jo

LisaK said...

Sorry, Zack, hope you're done showering (and I'm for once not talking about The Shower Scene, but your bellas-induced cold shower) so that we can go back on serious territory here. Yes. I second Michelle's question. Wanted to ask something along the lines before but wasn't sure if it wouldn't make you uncomfortable.

Something completely different now that I always found very interesting: Could it be that this uniform-wearing-men-hype is something ... yeah, geographical? Well, I'm from Germany and before reading romance I didn't have any specific fantasies about men in uniform. It's just not ... there, you know? Nobody here sees firefighters or policemen as the objects of sexual fantasies. I don't think the French or English do, either. The closest thing might be the Italian carabinieri, but I'm not sure here.
So, let's think about that: Are European uniform-wearers less sexy than American ones?
I really don't know.

Jo Davis said...

Tracy, I believe Billie Jo did say halo! huh!

Billie Jo, if you're the good one...well, that's givin' SIN a whole new definition! Our other friends here need to see you in action at RT... :D

Zack Knight said...

Michelle, let's just say my finances are a tad strapped right now and the cupboards are a little bare. I've got some bad folks breathing down my neck for money. So, nothing the Bellas could say would scare me off. Ok, almost nothing!

Michelle Buonfiglio said...

omg, Jules, are you and Billy Jo gonna get in a smackdown over who's the Good Girl? Hey everybody! Girlfight!

Wowza, LisaK, what a flippin great observation! I've read some romances with really hot MI-6 agents -- and certainly the Bow Street Runners -- but what about regular European firefighers and cops?Anybody? I got nuthin off the top o my head.

Wouldn't that make a good research topic. Not that I got nuthin, but LisaK's point, sillies.

Zack Knight said...

No problem, Julie! It's all in fun here. I'm having a blast!

Cori is tall with honey-brown hair. She's headstrong, gorgeous, and gets to me like nobody ever has. In a good way! She can also be pretty sarcastic--I guess I forgive her for calling me Forrest Gump, considering I'd just rear-ended her. I mean, her CAR. :)

Zack Knight said...

LisaK,
Yep, all done showering--for cleanliness, that's all! Jeesh.

Hmm, interesting point about European uniformed guys not being hailed as sexy or fantasy material, or whatever. I guess it makes sense--the only image of a uniformed dude over there I'm getting are those English guards in front of Buckingham Palace. I mean, not even a smile. SO not the stuff of fantasies. Well, not mine, anyway! Besides being dudes. Guess I'd better stop there before I get in trouble...

Billie Jo said...

LOL Michelle,

A catfight, especially since we live in the same state...LOL

HAHAHA Jo

I am a good girl at RT :-)

Billie Jo

Jo Davis said...

Ok, guys! Ready for a question for an autographed set of FS5 books (Trial By Fire and Under Fire)?! Just got my author copies of Under Fire in the mail! Yay!

Here goes:

**WHAT YEAR, MAKE, MODEL, AND COLOR IS ZACK'S CAR?

LisaK said...

Classic 1967 Mustang, built like a sleek silver bullet - so I guess it's silver. *g*

Jo Davis said...

Woohoo! WTG, Lisak!

Email me at Jo@JoDavis.net with your name and snail mail address, and I'll send your set of autographed books! :D

Julie in Ohio said...

YAY, Lisa!!! =o)

Jo Davis said...

Btw, in a side note to Zack's silver 1967 'Stang...that was actually my first car in high school! I can't *believe* I ever sold it...waaa!

Billie Jo said...

ACK I had to get my daughter off the bus and Jo threw in a question.

Bad Jo....LOL

Jo..I bought a 65 mustang and loved it.

Billie Jo

LisaK said...

Woohoo, thank you so verra much!!! I just sent my e-mail to you, Jo. Hope it arrived, my computer sometimes swallows them.

And how cool that you let Zacky (*g*) have your first car. So that's the answer when someone asks you: "What of yourself do you put into your characters?"

flchen1 said...

Ooh, Lisa! Congrats!!!

And wow, Jo, what a first car!

Martha Lawson said...

Hi Zack!

I can't wait to read your book! I've been waiting seems like forever...

Jo Davis said...

I got your email, LisaK! We're good to go. :)

Great question--I put a lot of tidbits of myself into the stories and/or my characters. Not always intentionally, it just comes to me. I use objects or areas I'm familiar with. Or I delve into my own emotions about a subject and project them into the characters. I guess you could say I'm channeling.

Jo Davis said...

Hi Martha! Are you the Martha who stopped by the booksigning and talked to me at RT?

Jo Davis said...

Ooh, Billie Jo, I'm sooo jealous! I've owned 2 Mustangs and loved them both! One of these days, I'll get another one...

Portia Da Costa said...

Just an observation on LisaK's comment... a very interesting one that.

I don't think it's so much the lack of hunky uniformed guys to fancy in the UK, I think it's more that British women just don't have the same uniform crush that American women do and thus there aren't romances written about our men in uniform. I'm sure there must be some, but I don't know of any specific examples.

I've written a story recently with an ex soldier as the hero, and he wears ex army clothing some of the time... does that count? :)

I kind of fancy our policemen in their white shirts and stab vests. And squaddies in camo gear are pretty hot too.

But no, in general, uniformed guys aren't the cult romance figures over here the way they are in the US.

Jo Davis said...

Ok, ladies...tell your friends the $25.00 Borders gift card is next! Question coming soon... :)

LisaK said...

So girls, it's half past ten here and I'm off to bed. I don't want to fall asleep while chemistry tomorrow. But before that, I'll read that nice little Shower Scene again. Just to make sure I've got sweet dreams. *bigsmile*
See ya at the next blog!

Jo Davis said...

Hi Portia!
That's very interesting to know uniformed men aren't quite the rage across the big pond that they are here in the US, in romance.

Yes, your ex-soldier definitely counts!

My question is, then what types of men (or professions in which they work) are popular in European romances? I'm curious! :)

Jo Davis said...

Good-night, Lisa! Thanks for being with us today! :)

Eve Marshall said...

Just to keep you on your toes, Jo told me to ask the next question! So, for the $25. Borders gift card, here we go:

**WHAT TYPE OF FOOD DOES ZACK HATE?

sarabelle said...

He says Tommy's Cooking is gross does that count

Eve Marshall said...

That's a good guess Sarabelle, but there's a specific food type Zack despises!

Poor Tommy... :)

sarabelle said...

Beanies Weenies.

Jane said...

Hi Zack,
I guess it's safe to say that you're not a metrosexual. How do you manage to stay in such great shape with all those wonderful cooks at the station?

Eve Marshall said...

Nope, it's not beanie weenies! :)

Suzanne Welsh said...

Good lord...a girl goes takes a nap so she can work all night, and y'all go crazy!!

Jo, I hope this goes well for tomorrow's sales. Y'all, do what I do, buy a book for yourself and one for a friend tomorrow!!

Zack Knight said...

Hi Jane,
Hmm, metrosexual...nope, I don't think so! But we do love to cook and eat. I stay in shape by running and working out some, but mostly I stay in shape because we're always so busy.

Zack Knight said...

Ok, do ya'll need a hint as to what type of food I can't stand?

Even Tommy would have a tough time messing this up. And most folks think I'm totally weird because I don't like it!

amy*skf said...

he hates pasta

amy*skf said...

I feel like I cheated though, the book is on our "new" shelf and I opened it up and started looking...and there it was.

Suzanne Welsh said...

An aside to JO....did you see the news yesterday on the Cowboys trainin facility and which fire units were sent to help? I wonder if it was any of our boys out there? (The real ones we met that Sunday?)

amy*skf said...

I work at the library--hence the "new" shelf--and I can't tell you how hard it is to just take this book home and read it. But I'm saving myself for my very own copy.

Zack Knight said...

Woohoo, Amy! You got it! I loathe pasta! And nope, you didn't cheat--all's fair however you can get the answer!

Email Michelle for your $25. Borders gift card!

I'll ask the next question...2 more great prizes to go!

Zack Knight said...

Ok for the Hoyt collectible firefighter bear (proceeds from its sale benefitted the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation)...and this one might take some guess work:

**WHAT STRANGE FEAR DO I SHARE WITH JO? (AS IN THE FEAR OF ___, AND IT'S A NOUN)

Jo Davis said...

Suz,
Yes, I saw where the training bubble thingy collapsed! (very technical term) Is the training facility near or in Texas Stadium? Since our firefighters station is just the next exit down from, I'm sure they were called over there if so! Scary.
