Lover Revealed, Or: Don't Hate Me Cause I've Read It

Ah. Well. We've survived, now, haven't we. My favorite gift? A very romantic one from Dave: a luxe detailing of the mum-mobile, to scrape off all the gunk from schlepping around two children who insist upon being fed daily, often repeatedly in each diurnal cycle.

Very sexy stuff.

***
Those of you new to RBtheBook and RBtheBlog my find this hard to believe, but there are some Bellas who hang here who -- well, there's no gentle way to put it -- beg like lust-crazed virgins in medieval warlord romances when it comes to tidbits about Books Not Yet Released.

Take Black Dagger Brotherhood novels, for instance, the next of which, "Lover Revealed," I finished a week or so ago. Not for nothin, but, I'm lovin me some Butch O'Neil, and not just cause he's from Southie, still has some of his Boston accent, and has a big ol jones for Marissa, member of the Regency-like vampire aristocracy. But what can I tell you about LR without giving away big, fat spoilers? Hmmm...beg me and I might tell a few.
Anywayz, I'm wondering, what books are you looking forward to in the
New Year, ex-specially in January and February?
***
Encore! New Year's Rezzie: To post more pix of hot guys. What's happened to me, anyway, that I've let this slide? I'm so ashamed.

Okay, Michelle--

You're one of my favorite people, and I AM full of the holiday spirit, having successfully hosted Christmas Eve dinner. But as I've already mentioned to you, when you start bragging about your ARC of LOVER REVEALED, I start feeling pretty snarky. I'll say it again: people's houses have been burgled for less...

Happy &*%##@ New Year!
Ann :)

Julie in Ohio said...

Lust crazed virgins? Really, Michelle, I don't think calling Mary Kate names is necessary... :P

Please be so kind as to picture my crawling through hot coals on all fours begging and pleading with you for the tiniest little blurb about Butch. I'll take any scrap you'll drop. We all know I'm shameless so I'll even offer a bribe if it will work. Anything. Please, Michelle, you have to put me out of my misery. Give me something to hold me over until March. Pretty please with Godiva chocolate on top...

As for the up and comings, besides the obvious Brotherhood, I would say SUGAR DADDY and Anna DeStefano's next one. I can't remember the name of it but it's the conclusion of her "daughter" series. I also can't wait to see what Julia Quinn comes up with next although that won't come out until summer.

Julie in Ohio said...

Michelle-- I read your interview with Dixie Cash. I LOL at their polite put downs. I could've used them during the last couple of days...

rachd said...

LOL, Jules! =)

Beg? Not me. I'm more into bribery :oP.

So, Michelle, would you be willing to trade a few choice morsels from the book for me taking your monsters off your hands for a few days??? ;o)

Julie in Ohio said...

Oooh good one, Rach...

And while Rach has your kids, I'll throw in a weekend at a spa of your choice...with or without hubby... :o)

Estella said...

I' looking forward to the newest Susan Wiggs book in the Willow Lake series.

rachd said...

Excellent addition there, Julie ;o).

To add to the bargain Jules and I already have going, I'll throw in a pound of Godiva truffles to consume while being massaged by one very handsome man with beautiful hands and forearms. :o)

Lacy in TX said...

Your killing me! I'm so jealous I can't stand it. I SO can't wait for Butch's book to come out.

I'm totally broke now after Christmas so I'll have to resort to shameless begging. Please, Please, Please! With chocolate, whip cream and cherries on top!

Carol said...

Hi Michelle!

I really enjoy your blog and love getting some tidbits of upcoming new releases! I can't top rachd and Julie but I'm waving a pom pom in support.

As for me, I'm really looking forward to SEP's new one Natural Born Charmer, Lisa Kleypas's Sugar Daddy, I'll have to read the last page to see who Liberty ends up with before I can even begin! Also Sabrina Jeffries anthology School for Heiressss and Julie Garwood's Shadow Dance! Waiting for Noah's story has been a killer. Do you by chance have any info this one? (smile)

Julie in Ohio said...

To keep our bargain going, I will be more than willing to fly Canna over to be the very handsome man with beautiful hands and forearms to do the massaging...

Julie in Ohio said...

Ooooohhh, I forgot about Cam's story. I so can't wait for that one. Anyone remember when it's supposed to come out?

ev said...

Since I have all the books waiting for me here to sit and read, I don't have to beg, borrow or steal to find out. By the time I get to them it will be out!!

I really have to sit down and up date my little notebook of books to get. I have slips of paper running around and I never remember to take them with me when i go shopping. And I never remember crap when I get to the bookstore either.

Julie in Ohio said...

Ev-- Be warned; Once you start with the Brotherhood, you won't be able to stop and you'll be right here with us begging in no time.
And if you haven't notice yet, Michelle is such a tease...

BUT WE LOVE HER TO PIECES AND WORSHIP AT HER ARC COVERED FEET... :O)

Michelle Buonfiglio said...

Oh, gosh, you all are rejuvenating me! I forgot about Cam's story and'll have to look up the release date.

Ann,Ann, Ann. Congrats on the CE dinner! You're such a pleasant woman, but we all have our boiling points don't we? Perhaps yours would cool a bit if you knew that some very interesting dish is served in LR about Butch and V's bond of brotherhood, psychodynamics and all...

Glad you stopped in, Carol. I don't remember the exact SEP release date, but I can tell you she's scheduled to GuestBlog here Feb 7, 07 to chat about Chicago Stars QB Dean Robillard and a chick in a beaver suit. I kid you not. :)

How flippin lucky are we?

And I'll keep an eye out for the julie garwood.

Throwin Marykate under the bus already, are ye, JulieO? Is there no one who's bloody carcass you wouldn't scramble over to learn how John's training and transition are starting to heat up?

estella, I read the last Susan Wiggs novel and loved it. I'm such a sucker for the flashback to teen attraction, then fast forward to today love story. Don't you just love how she creates atmosphere?

Ooooh, beautiful hands and forearms, rachd. You DO know how to turn my head! But it can't be Canna. I know, shocking. But how could I possibly let him see up close and personal all those parts I dream of his caressing? I mean, parts is definately not parts, if you know what I mean. And Bella here ain't gettin any younger.

So, could you ante up a really hot guy for the massage, but one with some eyesight issues?

lacy in Tx adds the perfection to the shameless pleading sundae. Hmmm, let me seeeeeee...

Perhaps you need to know that even I was taken aback -- and you Bellas know what that might require -- by the avenues JR Ward explored in Lover Revealed. Day-amn, but girlfriend impresses me with her bravery in creating her books.

Michelle Buonfiglio said...

ev, sounds like you're feeling like me. It's the old cliche: so many books, so little time.

Jules. I have one word for you: shameless.

Julie in Ohio said...

OK, Canna is out (although I hear he wears contacts. maybe all we have to do is remove them).
How about Sean Connery? I know there is an age difference but he still has sex appeal.
Or that Italian ref you had a pic of during World Cup. I wanna say his name was Fabio also but he was more mature than Canna. He had very nice hands and forearms. I bet he would know just how to get you loosened up and relaxed...

BTW, how is John's training going? And what *exactly* did Ms.Ward explore that was so shocking? :o)

Carol said...

Thanks Michelle for the heads up! Looking forward to SEP's blog on Feb.7th. Sounds like the perfect book to read heading into Valentine's day.

Julie in Ohio said...

How about a private concert by Andrea Boccelli? He could seranade you while hubby massaged you. Embarrassment free...

Julie in Ohio said...

OK after doing a bit of research I discovered that the ref I was referring to was Argentinian not Italian and his name was Horacio Elizondo not Fabio. Do I get points for the well meaning thought?

Stacy~ said...

Begging and bribery? Come on ladies, we're classier than that! There's no need to stoop to those levels! (Pssst! Over here, behind the Greyhound bus. I've got Fannie May chocolate and diet Coke to keep us fortified - I say we take a roadtrip to the lovely state of frozen mosquitoes and wrench the precious thing out of her lily-white hands! I know where blondie lives...vaguely. Should be a piece of cake. Cake, hmmm, yeah, I'll bring that too. Lust-crazed virgins, pul-eeze. She obviously has no clue who she's dealing with.... though bringing Canna along, with or without contacts (or clothes) isn't a bad idea Julie. We need someone to hand out the chocolate).

Uh, hi Michelle. Sounds like you had a nice holiday, and what a keeper your dh is, btw. What every woman dreams of for Christmas *g*

Julie in Ohio said...

LMAO! I'm with ya, Stacy... :o)

Bellas, I think we've stooped to a new(or not so new) low... :o)

Do you think it'll work?
*whispering so Queenie doesn't hear*

traveler said...

I am really looking forward to reading several wonderful novels, namely The Sidewalk Artist by Gina Buonaguro and Janice Kirk. Sounds absolutely intriguing.

Julie in Ohio said...

Another book I'm looking forward to is Blood Fever by KMM. I've only just begun Dark Fever but it has me hooked. Michelle, do you know when it's due out?

rachd said...

LOL, Stacy!!

(Rach glancing over her shoulder and whispering so the Queen doesn't hear...) Where are we meeting, Stace? Her hands are probably so frozen with cold she won't feel the snatching anyway!

Hi, Michelle! =) You are so very generous and kind to share those few paltry details with us...um, yeah, kind and generous and did I mention I'm *really* looking forward to more hot, wet guys? =)

Monica Burns said...

BELLAS! *shocked gasp*

I am soooo ashamed of all of you trying to bribe our beloved Michelle. Have I taught you NOTHING? She's Italian for god's sake. Make her an offer she CAN'T refuse. Having wiseguys in the family will obviously help when it comes to getting that horse head into her house. ROFLMAO

Say, was it Stacy or Michelle that raved about Whitney, My Love??? I bought it and powered through that book (676 or thereabouts pages) in all of four hours. I couldn't put it down. FABULOUS! Thanks for the referral. I don't have many keepers, but this one is on the shelf for good!

As for Ward' latest, *sigh* I am such a slow poke. I haven't even had time to break open book 2...(yeah I hear your gasps of shock and heart palpitations) but I've been busy. But it's on the TBRL ...really it is! LOL

I almost forgot! Guess what I got for Xmas?!? I got me a new SWORD!! It's totally awesome! It's a Pharaoh's sword. The DH figured it was appropriate since I just sold my Golden Heart finalist entry, Mirage, with it's Egyptian-theme and hunky Sheikh, to Samhain Publishing! Whooo Hooo!

Happy New Year Everyone!

Monica

Michelle Buonfiglio said...

HooooRAAAAAY, Mon! That's awesome news! About the sale, I mean. Oh, the sword, too, of course. Nothing says love like a finely-honed piece of steel on one's grip. I do love me some sheiks, and I haven't read one in a while. Of course, there's always Rudi Valentino, no?

Good on you, Monica!

Michelle Buonfiglio said...

I got a little caught up in Monica's news, so I'm just getting around to laughing about your posts. Canna having contacts does bode well. Bocelli? Well, that solves the problem, doesn't it, cause I've done my fair share of fantasizing about Andrea and his vocal abilities, ETC., and, well, I think he played pro or secondary football, too.

There is Great Shamelessness in Numbers, that's all I can say about youz when you get in cahoots. I can't remember when I've laughed so hard.

And I'll do my best on the hot, wet guys thing. Can you imagine that things started getting all conservative around here during Hot Topic Week?

Sidewalk Artist does sound intriguing, traveler. I actually knew a guy who did that.

Stacy~ said...

Congrats Monica! That's fabulous news :) And I think it was both me and Michelle (and others) who raved about "Whitney, My Love". I'm so excited that someone read it 20+ years later and loved it. Stands the test of time. Now Monica, have you read "LOrd of Scoundrels"???

Oh, I forgot to mention I'm really looking forward to LK's "Sugar Daddy", and Cam's story. I'll have to check my Amazon wishlist - there are some great releases in Feb & March but I can't think of them right now.

rachd said...

Mon, fabulous gift! Every girl needs her own weaponry! =)

I got so caught up in LR that I completely forgot the books I was looking forward to. Cam's story fo' sure! And, one that isn't a new release, but which you mentioned, Stacy, Lord of Scoundrels. I've got it on Amazon and am waiting on tenterhooks!

Julie in Ohio said...

Go, Mon. It's your birthday...
*Julie doing the happy dance*

I'm with Rach. Every girl needs a good sword in her collection. How else is she going to get her way? :o)

I can't wait to read "Whitney". I've heard nothing but great things...
I guess I'll have to add LOS to my list of reads to get...

What can we say, Michelle? When we have such a worthy objective, we Bellas stick together. And is there a more worthy objective than to get you to spill it about LR?????

MaryKate said...

MK running into the room....sorry to be late to the party Bellas! Did I hear my name being bandied about?!

Do we all see how Michelle is?! She brags about having read the book, and yet, reveals NOTHING. NADA. ZIP.

So, I'll start with the penetrating questions(pun intended)...Michelle, tell me we get some news on my Tohr. I don't need to know what, I just need to hear he's OK. I'm so worried about him. And the Warden has no book in sight for him right now. She's been tangoing with V, and she says he's a pain in the a**.

Come on Michelle, I think in the spirit on the season you can dish just a liiiiiiittle bit. If not, I'm sending Mon over with her big sword!

Mon, I'm so glad you enjoyed Whitney, My Love! I love that book. It's old school in a terrific way. Hey Michelle, did you notice that Teresa Medieros squawked about Flame and the Flower right after you did? You trend setter you!

Hope everyone had an amazing holiday! My folks left yesterday morning (at 5:30AM, what is it with parents?!). I spent the day literally catatonic on the couch. But I'm back to work today.

OK, here's my guilty secret (I have so many), I love teen angsty movies. Last night I watched (with two friends) Disney's HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL. It was hilarious and very cute. If I were an 11YO girl, I'd totally be owning the CD!

This year for Christmas my two college aged nieces made me a "Hipness Mix" CD, so I could increase my hipness. It has a bunch of music I've never heard on it. But one song that I love is "Juicy" by Better Than Ezra. It was used last year by Desperate Housewives for their promos. It's really fun. Kinda reminds me of the Stones' "Emotional Rescue." Has anyone else heard it? I'm so hip and happenin' now, I can barely stand myself!

Wow, I missed you guys! Hope everyone is doing well and recovering from the holidays!

Julie in Ohio said...

MK-- I didn't think you'd mind being thrown into to the mix while you were gone. It was for a good cause. Although as you have pointed out, MICHELLE HAS GIVEN US NOTHING. What more does she want? I will give you my first born if she really wants her... :o)

I have seen HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL. I have the excuse of having younger children. I enjoyed it very much and know most of the songs. We bought the DVD...for the kids. :o)

rachd said...

I had heard wonderful things about HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL and want to see it. Now if only I had an excuse--Monkey is only five...

MK, I don't think I could hang out with you if you were any hipper! ;oP You would leave me feeling amazingly uncool!

MaryKate said...

Rach - Trust me, Monkey would be dancin' her little hiney off! Because it's Disney, there's not a single objectionable aspect to it. She'd love it!

It kind of reminds me of Grease for the little guys -- with no Greased Lightnin'. I remember gasping the first time I heard Greased Lightnin', "Mom, he said Sh*t!" LOL!

Julie in Ohio said...

Rach-- Monkey would love singing to the songs and Little Bit would get up and dance along with them...

But we are getting off topic...

MICHELLE, DON'T YOU HAVE SOME CATS TO LET OUT OF THE BAG?

We are waiting very patiently...

rachd said...

'Kay, MK and Jules, ya'll have convinced me! =)

Um, Michelle, deets? Puh-leeeeeeeeze? (insert pitiful eyeballs here)

Playground Monitor said...

When I stop rolling around laughing at youz guyz, maybe I can jog this old brain and think of what I'm looking forward to.

Oh... one thing... since I read a lot of category romance, I'm looking forward to the launch of the new Everlasting line especially since a good friend of mine is one of the launch authors. I already read the book since I proofed it for her but I can't wait to see it with a cover and in final print form.

Don't know why I'm so exhausted today but I plan to take full advantage and curl up on the couch with my new reader's shawl and read, read, read.

Marilyn

Julie in Ohio said...

SPILL IT, WOMAN!!!!!!

Michelle-- When we arrive on your door step strung out on chocolate due to the nervous eating we've all had to endure because you weren't forth coming with the deets, remember you started this.
Now don't you feel guilty?

Maybe, guilty enough to give us a really juicy tibit? :P

MaryKate said...

:looking around:

Where IS Michelle?! How dare she have a life?! I know! She's preparing a long, drawn out description of the wonderful happenings in LR! That's it! Yeah, she's writing stuff down for us.

SNORT.

So, did anyone read anything good over the holiday? I read "You Don't Know Jack" by Erin McCarthy yesterday. She writes really cute stuff. And steamy! I like her style. She's funny without being "punny", you know? Today I'm finally reading "Reason to Believe" by Jessica Inclan. This is my first by her. I'm enjoying it quite a bit.

ev said...

I had to set aside the romances for a bit and catch up on the new releases from the library, so I am doing a kellermann and a DeMille. And I have others waiting for me too. sigh

I can't believe I missed High School Musical again. Dang, but I am going to see that yet. I don't care if the youngest is almost 22, I can still watch and enjoy. (I love Disney films anyway.) I just won't drool over any of the players in it. Too icky....

Michelle- since I still have all the books, unread, you can tell me, cause, ya know, I won't tell anyone and they tidbits wouldn't really mean anything at this point, would they???

rachd said...

Marilyn, how did the grandbaby enjoy the books? Those you listed were some of my absolute favorites! =)

Ev, I like the way you think, ;o). Way to pump Michelle for the good stuff! *g*

MaryKate said...

OK, let's see Michelle asked for books we're looking forward to. Since I'm not actually doing any work today, here's what B&N shows as coming soon that I'll be buying:

JANUARY
Sun Kissed - Catherine Anderson
Rising Moon - Lori Handeland

FEBRUARY
The Dream-Hunter - Sherrilyn Kenyon
Natural Born Charmer - SE Phillips
Tongue in Chic - Christina Dodd
Chasing Stanley - Deidre Martin
The Marcelli Princess - Susan Mallery
Simply Love - Mary Balogh

Now, March 6th is going to be a poverty day for me! But the BIG three that are coming out that I can't wait for are:
Lover Revealed (of course)
Warlord - Elizabeth Vaughan
Sugar Daddy - Lisa Kleypas.

Not bad, huh?

rachd said...

MK, is SIMPLY LOVE in paperback? And, March does indeed look to be a dilly of a day!

MaryKate said...

Rach - Yes, that's the day Simply love comes out in PB. I believe it's been in hardcover for a few months. I wish her stuff would come out in PB faster.

Julie in Ohio said...

I've got it!!! I know the reason Michelle isn't spillin'.

Are ya'll sitting down?

She's working on getting all of us ARCs of LR. That has to be it. We should be watching our mail.

Why else would she give us such a teaser and then drop it. She isn't normally this cruel. Umm, right?

I should probably stay out of the 'nog while at work...

rachd said...

Yup, MK, I'm with you on that. I LOVE Mary Balogh and wish the pb's were it. Now LK seems to be on the same wavelength. Boo hoo.

Hm, Jules, ye may be onto somethin' there... ;o)

Playground Monitor said...

Marilyn, how did the grandbaby enjoy the books?

I guess she's enjoying them just fine. *sniffle* Instead of spending the night, they just came up for the afternoon, ate dinner, hung around a couple hours and went back home. So I didn't get to sit and read to her or help her play with her new toys. However, we did get lots of cuddling and giggling in. She's become very vocal in the last month and I just love listening to that baby voice. She's also sitting up now too.

I posted her portraits on my Grammy Blog. Ain't she cute???

Marilyn

Julie in Ohio said...

Marilyn-- Could she be any cuter? Give her cheeks a squeeze for me. :o)

Rach-- Would that be the 'nog or ARC? :P

rachd said...

Oh, Marilyn, what a *DOLL*!!!

Jules, I was goin' for the ARC's, but some nog might be kinda nice :op

Vivi Anna said...

Marilyn, she's precious!!

Hello Bellas, hope everyone had a marvy Christmas.

Books I'm looking forward to:

Surviving Demon Island - Jaci Burton
Blood Bound - Patricia Briggs
Kissing Sin - Keri Arthur
The Rest Falls Away: The Gardella Vampire Chronicles - Colleen Gleason
Helles Belles - Jackie Kessler
For A Few Demons More - Kim Harrison

Julie in Ohio said...

Vivi-- You have quite a theme going there... :o)

Rach-- The 'nog may help pass the time before the ARCs come...

See, Michelle, you've turned us into alcohies. tsk,tsk,tsk...
Rach, get the 'ritas ready. I'll make the jello shots.

If bribery didn't do it, I'll work the guilt... :P

Liz said...

I am so waiting for this one and my order from Amazon of 3 books. Plus Catherine Spanglers newest

rachd said...

Hi Vivi! Good lookin' list!

Jules, great idea. We'll get her schnockered and snatch the ARC. She'll never notice...

Michelle Buonfiglio said...

Um. I guess this would be the wrong time to mention I've already read the new Mary Balogh, "Simply Magic?"

Julie in Ohio said...

*Deep sigh* I give. We've tried begging, pleading, bribing, threats, guilt, drunkedness and wishful thinking. I'm tapped.
Michelle, you win. You secrets are safe. If the monarchy can't tease merciless, who can? You aren't the queen for nothin'.

(reverse psychology)

MaryKate said...

I guess this would be the wrong time to mention I've already read the new Mary Balogh, "Simply Magic?"

Yes. Now would not be the time.

Unless of course, you wanted to soften the blow by spilling some tidbits about LR.

rachd said...

(Rach sitting speechless because she was told if you can't say something nice...)

Julie in Ohio said...

ROTFLMAO, Rach!!!!

MaryKate said...

LOL! Rach - You rock!

I on the other hand live by the policy that if you don't have anything nice to say, come sit next to me.

Julie in Ohio said...

I am torn in two.
The Pollyanna in me says, "Good things come to those who wait".

However the Cruella in me is saying "Gimme that puppy NOW!"

Michelle Buonfiglio said...

It's interesting you should bring this up now, cause I'm musing on my blog for tomorrow's RomancingTheBlog.com post. You know, about whether snark and mean-spiritedness w/in commentary make it relevant, since they tend to attract more attention.

Anywayz, I always say in real life: If you can't say something nice...for God's sake, don't say it so loud that anyone else can hear.

MaryKate said...

Michelle - I learned as a sorority member, don't say anything behind someone's back that you're not willing to say to their face. Good advice that's stood me in good stead most of my life.

But enough about that. How 'bout my question about my Tohr? ;o)

rachd said...

My little Pollyanna self can't handle meaness and mean spiritedness. Snark, okay, sure. But meaness for the sake of being mean, even in context? Nope. Can't do it.

It's especially difficult to convey through blogging and comments--tone, facial expression, etc. are all lacking, so something completely innocuous turns into something else entirely if you aren't careful.

That said, MK, great advice.

Julie in Ohio said...

I'm with you, Rach. I'm full of snark/sarcasm but meaness I can't do...
The good news is; Michelle, you don't have to worry about me actually doing the things I have threatened to do.
The bad news is; Michelle, you don't get the perks of the things I said I would do.

I guess you figured that anyways, seeings how you haven't given us anything, either... :P
