March 2007 is going to be a great month for releases. I can't wait for this book. I love this cover. It's perfect in its understated way. The silhoettes are perfect...

I *know* you aren't trying to suggest you've already read this, right Michelle? Because if you had, I'd have to be bitterly jealous! ;o)

Fabulous cover, deets please??

What? A picture? Albeit a gorgeous one, but no inside scoop? Ladies, don't you feel a little left out here? I know I do. Come on Michelle, spill. You wouldn't want to give us any more stress than we already have, do you???? Such a good Queen Bella you are....you're for the people, right? LOL.

Do you need a bribe, Michelle? Can I offer you hot dish? Some Dunkin' Donuts? A 'rita or two?

(Ooooh, a coupla 'ritas will have Michelle talkin' Rach thinks slyly to herself...

You, Bellas, are just shameless. I can't believe what I'm reading. Bribery, whining, etc. I'm just speechless... *snicker*

Michelle, how about a shopping spree to a store of your choice? Just let me know when your available.

(So I can chop down that money tree in the backyard. :P)

I vote we don't give her any Halloween candy.

Have you noticed how she has stayed away all day??

Julie in Ohio said...

In her defense, I believe her in laws are in town.
However, does not excuse her from dropping this absolutely gorgeous cover on us and then leaving us high and dry with nothing to chew on but our jealousy.

Michelle, honestly, you know that Lisa is just the sweetest person. She would not mind the slightest bit if you were to drop us, say, a chapter or two...

Yeah, Ev, what is that all about? Here, I'll give you the Snickers and Rach some KitKats and Julie, here's some Hershey's with almonds. Oh look...candycorn. I hate candycorn. Here Michelle, catch!

Michelle Buonfiglio said...

Oh, Bellas, I'm so sorry. I had kid stuff today, then blogger wouldn't let me comment again. I've been dying to give you all the inside scoop.

not.

OK. Well, I wanted to just do something striking to let you know how I feel about this novel. I just finished it today -- started it yesterday afternoon, stayed up late last night -- and I was so crazy about it.

Ya know what? It's first person. First flippin person. And you know me. The first in romance drives me nuts.

Well, I figured out the problem. The first handled by lesser writers drives me nuts.

She's the stuff, that Lisa Kleypas is. The thing reads so smooth, so heart-rending, so damn hot. I think she sold her soul; it's the only possible reason it could be this good.

Michelle Buonfiglio said...

Wait! I actually LIKE candy corn!

Hi my Bellas! I missed you guys. I told you guys not to talk about anything good while I was gone, and instead you had the wonderful Connie Brockway here! SIGH. Hope you guys had a blast.

Didn't get much of a chance to read while I was in Scottsdale (worked almost 80 hours in 6 days), but I did reread THIS HEART OF MINE by SEP and also HOMEPORT by Nora Roberts.

Also, when I got home tonight I had the chance to check all my author sites, and JR Ward had an excerpt from LOVER UNBOUND (Vishous' book!) on her message board. Yowza. I can't believe how excited I am about this book. Now I'm reading Lisa Jackson's new one.

The cover of SUGAR DADDY looks wonderful (then again, when don't Lisa's books look incredible?!). Michelle, I'm assuming you're not going to hand us out anything but that, right? "Stunning" It's a bit of a tease! You book tease you! I guess it's better than being another kind of tease! LOL!

Missed you guys lots and am so glad to be home!

rach, who told you I talk a bit too much after a cocktail? Was it somebody who was at RWA? Just name names, it's ok. It'll be between you and me...

rachd said...

Um, lucky guess?? Yeah, yeah, that's it...

Whew, for a minute there I thought you were on to me. I could never reveal my sources...:oP

Julie in Ohio said...

OOOOHHHH, Michelle. I don't do first person, either, but I'd read a physics paper if Lisa wrote it.
I can't wait for this book...

Stacy, how did you know I loved Herseys with almonds? Yummmmmm

Julie in Ohio said...

Hey, MK, glad to see ya back. Now I have to dash over to see the Warden. MMMMM, V....

Michelle Buonfiglio said...

MK! I wondered where you were. Somewherez exotic? Newark? Boise? St. Paul?

OK. So you all know SD's a love triangle, right? Well, you can't believe how she plays the thing out. And the hero/es? Oh, man, I just wish I'd known me more Southern boys when I was single. It reminds me of Atlanta, where just on the street guys were so friendly and charming and gentlemanly.

Anywayz. The story takes the heroine from almost 14 to around mid-twenties. Do you smell young love revisited? Well, sorta.

And this whole sugar daddy thing is interesting. You don't hear a lot of that going on in Minnesota. What would you call it, cause l'etoil du nord ain't exactly known for sweets. Stinky lutefisk, mostly. Lutefisk Daddy? Cheese Curd Daddy? Hot Dish Daddy?

That whole Texas culture thing is fascinating, and reminds me of the Southern girls at the Miss A pageant. So gorgeous and with just an attitude ans pizazz all their own.

Yikes, I'm not much of a first person gal, but ya'll were right about BDB, so I'm in. And, it *is* LK!

Stacy, toss those KitKats my way, Bella!

MK missed you too--not that I've been able to be around much lately...

Hot dish daddy!! LOL! I LOVE it! =)

Hi back Michelle and Jules! I was in Phoenix, where, I'm sorry to tell you, the weather was ridiculous. In the mid-70s and sunny everyday. It's very, very dry there, though and my hands are nasty rough now. It's so hard being me.

So I was staying at a pretty posh hotel, and guess who was there the week before me?! Jen and Vince. Yes, Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn. I hear tell he played a bunch of golf, and she enjoyed the spa and pool. She's apparently incredibly lovely and tiny and sweet and doesn't have a diva thing going on. She was in love with the chocolate croissants at the Starbucks there and asked to meet the pastry chef in person so she could say so. He was blown away. And they are apparently very, very happy. Lovey and hand holdy.

So there it is, my insider scoop from Phoenix Bellas. It's not as great as Brockway or Clare or Maynard or Foster, but hey, it's my little scoop.

Julie in Ohio said...

LOL, Michelle!!

Wow, MK! That's cool. Aren't they supposed to be broken up? You mean the tabloids were wrong? *gasp*

Keira Soleore said...

Ooooh!! A new one by Lisa Klepas, and all we get is a cover? I say, let's join forces, so we can force, er, delicately coax, an excerpt or two (or three) out of Michelle.

Lisa K. is one of my all-time fave authors, so I am totally chomping at the bit for this one. I don't mind first person and it doesn't bother me that she wrote a contemp. I'll still read her stuff.

HI Michelle,

I think love triangles are tricky. Do you think Libby picked the right guy?(smile) Any more hints would be great! I can't wait to read this one either!
