I was thinking this morning that there's one thing that pretty much most of the guys have in common that we've been ogling here at RBtheBlog: they're all younger than me. And I'm not sure how I feel about that.
I mean, I've been diggin on finding pix of hot guys for you, cause it gets me to places on the Inet that sometimes make shudder -- usually with excitement, often with arousal, occasionally with revulsion -- that part of me I thought had seen (and read) everything.
When I'm searching, I generally stumble across all kinds of trendy crap. Yet, nothing makes me feel more de trop than realizing what the young and hip are doing, that calling them hip makes one the opposite of that, and that even when I was younger, I still probably wouldn't have understood why they were doing it.
Thing is, I'm at this remarkable point in life where my body is zinging, I love what I do, and I feel more confident than ever about things I never knew I could control. But I'm still trying to figure out the rules, I guess, which is kinda disappointing. I mean, is it just plain creepy to think guys who are 10, 15, 20 years younger than I are sexy as hell?
This week's feature at Romance: B(u)y the Book deals with a few of these issues. "Just One of Those Flings" has an alpha younger man who's crazy about an older woman. Our heroine's got to convince herself that his attraction to her is real, not some fetish; that her desirablity transcends her age.
Plus, she figures out whether she can embrace the self-possession and sophistication that come with aging. And she gets to do it all while having an outrageously-erotic affaire!
What's the best thing about being you at your age?
How's it better than any other point in your life?
