Toe-Curling Hotties

When did I realize my avoidance of writing had possibly turned to writer's block?

When I found myself glued to the Torino Games, breathlessly watching the Men's Curling competition and wondering two things:

1. Would a romance novel set within the fast-paced and intriguing world of Curling be as sexy as I think?

2. Who is hotter?

USA's Pete Fenson:

or Canada's Brad Gushue?

Squawk-o-Meter: 2 Days and Counting...

Encore! Curling originated in Scotland in the 16th century. Gotta love those Highlanders, and some of my faves are Karen Marie Moning's.

It's a toss-up, Michelle. I guess I'd have to actually see their styles--they are cute. I came home yesterday to my 7 year old watching the Daytona 500, all his idea, and then later I rounded out his personality with Couple's Ice Dancing. He only groused once that he wished the 'Olympics' were still on (speed skating, snowboarding, etc.) when I told him this was the Olympics he settled in and watched with me.

I think I'd give the edge to Brad. But it's close.

Oooh, Teresa, that cover. Now, I was thinkin Brad, too. Oh! Canada! But, Pete's 165 lbs of stone-hurling Minnesotan, and he's from Bimidji, home of Paul Bunyan. Now, there was a BiMBiAW!(Big Man, Big in All Ways)

Amy: sounds like you're raising a future romance hero.

OK. So, it's Pete for me. And,I understand he's a great in the kitchen. What's not to love?

Youz did the USA proud Team Fenson!

Michelle, I just might be raising a future romance hero--unfortunately no one will be good enough for him.
And might I second the 'oooh, that cover, Teresa'
Can't wait for the guest squawk blog, Michelle.

Michelle, I don't know if you are in the New York area, but if you are you should come to one of our meetings. RWA NYC is a great motivator.

Oh MAN! Pete is the MAN! Look at that strong chin, the great cheekbones. Oh and the smile that can melt you in a heartbeat. And I'm betting those eyes of his upclose are bedroom eyes! Not to mention the hair that a gal can spike her fingers through! YUMMY!

I'm with ya, Monica. And you should see him in those Nike high-performance curling trousers.

There are photos at www.NBCOLYMPICS.com!

And, he's a big man, too. 6'1", 165 lbs.

Apparently, Pete owns a pizza empire back in Bimidji. I smell road trip!

Hi, Elizabeth: Great call on the RWA! My only prob is that I go my local meetings and get so caught up in the fun, and the lunches after, that I completely avoid my, uh, avoindance problem.

My biggest prob is procrastination, which, as a writer, I'm sure you're unfamiliar with. My columns are due Weds at 10 am. Which means I start the packages about 8 the night before, and get up at about 4 the next morning to finish up.

I tried starting a couple days in advance as a set monthly goal at my RWA, but I just revised for days instead of hours.

I'm looking forward to the RWA convention in Atlanta. Will you be going?
